Wilma Jean Snider went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of September 4, 2022.
Jean was born on May 21, 1934 in Bayard, Nebraska, at her Grandparent’s homestead.
She was the daughter of Fred and Mable Steffensmeier.
She married Arthur Dean Snider in January 1951, and then finished High School, graduating in 1951. They were married 47 years until his death in 1998. She loved her family and had 3 children: Arthur F Snider, Debi Matchen, and LaVonna Hasler.
She was an Electronic Engineer for 25 years. Jean trick trained and performed horses, and raised many Arabian and Quarter horse paints. She bred and showed beautiful Yorkshire Terriers. She had the 6th Yorkie in the United States and showed at Westminster of New York. She was President of the Canary Bird Club in Casper WY, and even trained a Falcon and taught a Magpie to talk.
She cherished and valued time spent with her loved ones most of all, and read her Bible every day.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur D. Snider, and daughter, Lavonna J. Hasler.
Left to mourn her passing include her son, Arthur F. (Starla) Snider; daughter Debi (Mike) Matchen; son-in-law, Tom Hasler; brother, Freddie Steffensmeier; grand-children, Jolene Tjaden, Gina Jones, Adam Snider, Katie Vine, Angela Hasler, Katie Hasler, Paul Hasler, Jessica Watters, Matthew Matchen; and her 16 great-grandchildren, Vanessa Jones, Alexus Fryman, Sagan Jones, Maddie Tjaden, Cody Tjaden, Kobe Tjaden, Caleb Tjaden, Kaylee Vine, Khloe Vine, Faith Vine, Levi Snider, Tristen Airola, Samual Airola, Alexander Matchen, Logan Watters, and Landan Watters.
Jean requested a private grave-side funeral which will be held at the Bayard City Cemetery.
