Ardis Carol Peterson, age 89 of Alliance, NE, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026 at Highland Park Care Center.
Born on February 19, 1937 in Alliance to Arthur and Dorothy Peterson. Ardis dedicated her life to education, service and learning. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1956. She pursued her passion for teaching by earning her education degree alongside her mother, a special accomplishment that reflected their close bond and shared commitment to lifelong learning.
Although she never married, Ardis built a rich and meaningful life surrounded by family, friends, colleagues and students who cherished her wisdom and compassion. She did a bit of traveling which allowed her to embrace opportunities to learn about different cultures and communities. She was also a devoted member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Alliance.
She is survived by the Connie and Larry Seidler family, Jody Prelle family and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as a half-brother and half-sister. Ardis will be remembered for her love of teaching, her adventurous spirit and the positive influence she had on generations of students. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and lessons she shared.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Alliance with Pastor Eric Morris officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
