Scottsbluff, NE — Legacy of the Plains Museum and the Midwest Theater are proud to announce that Dave Stamey, one of the most celebrated voices of the American West, will headline the inaugural Legends of the Plains: An Evening of Western Song & Storytelling performance on Saturday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. This will mark the official launch of what will become an annual tradition honoring the heritage, stories, and artistry of the High Plains.
Stamey, known for his heartfelt storytelling, gentle humor, and songs that capture the spirit of ranch life, has earned national acclaim as one of the premier Western musicians performing today. His work resonates deeply with audiences across rural America, and especially here in the Panhandle, where the landscapes and lifestyles he sings about arepart of everyday life.
“Our mission is to preserve and share the stories of the people who shaped this area ,” museum Director Dave Wolf said. “Dave Stamey’s storytelling through music aligns beautifully with that mission. Partnering with the Midwest Theater to bring him to our community is a natural fit.”

Legends of the Plains: An Evening of Western Song & Storytelling represents the beginning of a long‑term collaboration and commitment between the two organizations. Blending historical preservation with live performance to celebrate the culture and identity of Western Nebraska. Each year, the series will feature an artist/s whose work honors the traditions, stories, and spirit of the Plains.
