One of the Grandview classes was fortunate enough to get a sneak peak of the Tactical Response Team Vehicle (TRTV).

We had a blast today at Grandview Elementary's fire drill! Our TRTV was on display, and the students were eager to check it out.

It's always a pleasure to connect with the community and show off our equipment, and we were thrilled to see the students' excitement.

Thank you to Grandview Elementary for inviting us to participate, and we hope to continue fostering positive relationships with our community.

We are excited to announce that our police department will be utilizing our TRTV (Tactical Response Team Vehicle) in conjunction with the school district's fire drills as tactical training exercises. This will allow our officers to sharpen their tactical skills in a realistic environment while also providing valuable support to the school district during their fire drills.

Today's exercise is currently being conducted at Grandview from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.

We take the safety of our community very seriously, and this is just one way we are working to ensure that our police department is prepared to respond to any situation that may arise. We appreciate the support of our community and look forward to continuing to work together to keep everyone safe.

If you have any questions or concerns about this training, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you!

Update: April 27 at 8:20 a.m.

We can assure you, the Alliance Police Department will utilize the TRTV for the following reasons: (and definitely not a Zombie Apocalypse)

Protection: An armored vehicle can provide increased protection for law enforcement officers in high-risk situations, such as active shooter scenarios, hostage situations, or when dealing with heavily armed suspects. It can provide a barrier between officers and potential threats, allowing them to approach dangerous situations with more confidence.

Rescue: An armored vehicle can be useful in rescue situations where officers need to extract civilians from a dangerous environment, such as a building that has been taken over by an armed suspect.

Tactical Operations: In certain tactical operations, an armored vehicle can be used to transport a SWAT team or other specialized unit to a location while providing cover and protection during the approach. Response to Natural Disasters: An armored vehicle can be useful in response to natural disasters, such as snowstorms or tornados(hail storms speaking of recent history), where law enforcement may need to navigate through dangerous terrain or debris to rescue survivors.

Public Events: An armored police vehicle could be used at public events, such as fairs or festivals, to provide a visible police presence and allow members of the community to interact with law enforcement officers.

School Visits: An armored police vehicle could be used to visit schools as part of a community outreach program. Students could have the opportunity to tour the vehicle, meet with officers, and learn about law enforcement in their community. Safety Presentations: An armored police vehicle could be used as a backdrop for safety presentations, such as talks on gun safety or disaster preparedness. This would allow officers to provide valuable information to the community while also showcasing the vehicle.
