Alliance man faces charges in pursuit, carjackings

An Alliance man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges for a pursuit and carjackings on April 10. During the incidents an Alliance officer fired shots from his pistol.

18 year-old Kolton Farr appeared in Box Butte County Court for the first time on April 20 for charges of use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, attempt of a Class 2A felony, DUI .15+, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, criminal mischief of $1,500 - $4,999, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal mischief of $501 - $1,499, willful reckless driving and minor in possession.

Following multiple incidents involving the carjackings, Farr told police, "I am the one you are looking for". According to court records, Farr said he was the driver of the white GMC pickup.

Farr also told police officers repeatedly he was intoxicated and drank too much.

When one of the police officers asked Farr if he had anything dangerous on him, he handed an officer a Benchmade pocket knife.

Farr's bond was set at 10% of $100,000.
