During the early morning hours of March 26, 2026, Sgt. Stolley was patrolling local businesses in the area of the 1000 block of East Third Street. During Sgt. Stolley’s patrol of the businesses, Sgt. Stolley came across a male attempting to enter two parked motor vehicles in a parking lot.
Sgt. Stolley contacted the male, who refused to identify himself and then attempted to flee on foot. Sgt. Stolley apprehended the male and detained him. Upon further investigation, the male was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The male was placed under arrest and transported to the Dawes County Jail on charges for Possession of Methamphetamine, Criminal Attempted Theft, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Obstruction of a Police Officer.
No bond has been set, as the male continues to refuse to identify himself. The Chadron Police Department and Dawes County Sheriff’s Office are working with State and Federal officials in order to identify the male.
