Nebraska Agencies to Host Crash Responder Safety Week Event

LINCOLN, Neb. — On Monday, Nov. 17, at 9 a.m., the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT), in partnership with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP), Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln Police Department, and Lincoln Fire & Rescue, will host a joint press conference and training exercise in recognition of Crash Responder Safety Week.

Crash Responder Safety Week, Nov. 17-21, is a national initiative sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to remind drivers to slow down and move over for roadside crash responders. NDOT’s Traffic Incident Management (TIM) program works to keep emergency responders, crash victims, and motorists safe by promoting best practices for motorist safety and crash clearance.

The Crash Responder Safety Week event will include a press conference and training exercise to demonstrate a crash response and best practices.

In the event of rain, the press conference location is subject to change.
