Chadron Police Department's 16th annual "Shop with a Cop" program raised thousands of dollars and helped many kids throughout the community.
The program was able to serve over 100 kids in the Chadron community. Cash donations totaled $9,406.85. The program also received food, gift cards and other non-cash donations.

"Due to COVID concerns we implemented our program a little differently," said Tim Lordino, Chadron Police Chief. "Families shopped with their children while officers interacted with the families from a safe social distance. As the families completed their shopping, 'Shop with a Cop' paid for the items."
The program also received toys donated by Wahlstrom Ford’s “Toys for Tots” program. There was assistance from the Panhandle Area Child Care Services as well as other local businesses.
The Chadron Police Department will continue taking donations throughout this year to be used during the 17th annual “Shop with a Cop” campaign.
"The Chadron Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the generous citizens for their continued support of our 'Shop with a Cop' program," Lordino added. "Chadron truly is a great community of people willing to help others."
