OSHKOSH ― Regional West Garden County is pleased to announce the recent addition of a mobile wide-bore MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanner to the hospital’s Radiology department. Regional West Garden County continues to partner with Shared Medical Services as the hospital’s mobile services MRI provider.

The GE Signa Voyager MRI machine is designed to help maximize patient comfort while delivering exceptional image quality. Features include:
· A 70-centimeter wide bore, so scans are less claustrophobic than with a traditional MRI
· Breathe-free and motion-free applications decrease the period of time needed for breath-holds and lying still during the exam
· Advanced functionality that provides the tools to help make a definitive diagnosis
For an enhanced experience, patients can select sound and lighting to fit their mood during the MRI scan, which includes skylights, murals, and an integrated music system. The increased signal allows the exam time to be shortened without compromising image quality.
"Regional West Garden County is committed to providing an exceptional experience for our MRI patients,” said Brad Howell, Regional West Garden County CEO. “Moving to a wide-bore MRI will make for a quieter, more open scan, which is particularly helpful for patients who typically suffer from claustrophobia or anxiety in an MRI setting."
