Gerald C. Eberspecher (1932 - 2023)

Graveside Services for Jerry Eberspecher will be at 11 a.m. at the Crawford Cemetery followed by a lunch at the Crawford City Park Saturday, June 3, 2023.

Gerald C. Eberspecher was born May 19, 1932, to Chris and Katherine (Doyle) Eberspecher in Harrison, Nebraska. Jerry passed away April 1, 2023, at the Ponderosa Villa Nursing Home in Crawford, Nebraska, at 90 years of age.

He graduated from Sioux County High School in 1949 and then joined the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1950 to return home due to the death of his father.

He married Joan Marie Norman on March 26, 1955, and to this union were born four children. They made a home in Harrison until the summer of 1969, when the family moved to the Crawford area. He was a successful rancher/farmer until his retirement in 1994.

He enjoyed retirement for many years, sharing in the lives of his grandchildren, going fishing, and playing cards with the fellers downtown.

He is survived by his children daughter Vicky Yant and husband Matt of Crawford, son Bill Eberspecher of Crawford, and daughter Ronda Norgard and husband Jim of Ft. Collins, Colorado. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jeff Norgard and wife Erin of Durango, CO; Mike Norgard and wife Jeanelle of Brownsville, TX; Anna Underwood and husband Tom of Alliance; Casey Norgard and wife Caren of Ft. Collins, CO; Chris Yant and wife Lainey of Omaha; Jessi Eberspecher of Crawford; and Jeremy Eberspecher of Casper, WY; great grandchildren Jack, Ben, and Ivy Underwood; Luella and Abram Yant; and Amelia Norgard; sisters Patsy Garner and husband Jack of Lusk, WY; sister Evelyn Carland and husband Monte of Cheyenne, WY; brother Spike Eberspecher and wife Peggy of Scottsbluff; and sister-in-law Mavis Eberspecher of Mitchell, Nebraska.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Joan in 2011 and son Chris in 1991. Also preceding him in death were his sisters Betty Hanson, Kathleen Gilbert, and Wilma Eberspecher; brother John Eberspecher; and ex-daughter-in-law Robin Williams.

Memorials in Jerry’s name may be given to the Ponderosa Villa Nursing Home or the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department.
