GERING, Neb. — Weather permitting, work will begin June 1 on U.S. Highway 30 (US-30), from mile marker 78 to mile marker 86,&nbsp;according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Werner Construction, of Hastings, is the contractor for this project. Work includes milling and laying asphalt and box culvert work. Traffic will be maintained with lane closures, signage and a pilot car and flaggers. Anticipated completion is the Aug. 14.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up and put phones down.
