The Hemingford Care Center will be expanding their services to better serve residents with dementia with a unit called Windmill Gardens.  Administrator Lora Sullivan  says HCC already serves Dementia residents, but Windmill Gardens  will be a secure unit and quiet for the residents.

"We're going to have specially trained staff who have a little more training with dementia," Sullivan said. "We're going to develop some programs to help keep the residents in that unit engaged and living life to the fullest."

Sullivan says that the Windmill Gardens will have eights beds and that while they originally planned to open it on Monday, but due to some remodeling it is being pushed back to around Aug. 20.

They are currently accepting applications to Windmill Gardens and  you can contact the Hemingford Care Center at 308) 487-3301.
