This is the post podcast. I'm Kalin Krohe, Today, KCOW Morning Show Host Jason Wentworth called into the open mic Buy Sell trade program from Johnstown, Colorado, from the northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital to say hello to the community and talk to Casey UW sports director and voice of the Bulldogs Michael messenger. Jason has been recovering from medical issues since January 15. Their conversation started with glass asking money if he was calling in to find a curling iron.

a curling iron Did you?

Currently iron and a bottle of Flintstones vitamins with all the learnings going on at

Barneys? We're all God. I knew you can't fool me. I know.

I know. I I knew I couldn't fool you.

Folks, this is Jason just in case you didn't know what do you do and what's going on?

There? I'm coming to you live on location from rehab

from Johnstown, Colorado, America, right.

That is exactly right. You know, glass. It is so wonderful to hear your voice.

Well, it's good to hear yours too. Yes.

What? A wonderful to talk to you it just for a moment. I just wanted to. That's all right. Just wanted to say hello to everybody and just say, you know, there's there aren't enough thank yous in the world. Because I've been blessed with cards. And then people say nice things. And it's just been incredibly helpful to get through this. And I'm doing rehab now which, you know, you probably knew bless that before all this happened. I was now what you would call somebody with a regular exercise program, you know,

well, we're some some, most of us are probably guilty of that. But well, but But yeah, so have they got you like on an exercise bike or a treadmill? Or all of the above? Or what? What do you I know, you probably got to build some stamina All right.

Well, that's the thing is we started out just kind of, you know, trying to get up Baba and walk around, and I walked up and down steps and and now now I'm working on these, these exercise machines and, boy, that the muscles, I tell you, the muscles are being used, they have not been used in a long time,

good for you. Well, we're going to have to get you joined up at the at the arc or the fitness center or something. So you can do this more often.

You know, that's probably not a bad idea. Because it feels good to be the within a few days to getting back home and getting back to being on the radio miss it and miss you guys a heck of a lot.

Well, we miss We miss you too. And when, and everybody's asking. So I'm so glad that you called. Because that way now we can answer these questions. Now I know that you probably aren't on a real real specific timetable at this time, but but hopefully within maybe by the first of the month would be a good day to shoot for or maybe even sooner than that.

Well, my my rehab ends on Sunday, I'm done at the end of this week. Okay. And once once I'm done with it with rehab, I just have to go back home and just kind of get ready to go back to work. And so it I'd say maybe two, three weeks, I'm not sure. We'll figure all that out. Well,

I don't want to rush we're not gonna rush anything. So that's good,

right? Yes, precisely. But I'm just I'm just I'm just excited that we're coming to the end of the road. And I know that you guys have been getting a lot of help from our other Eagle markets. And so I just wanted to say a big thank you to everybody that's been pitching in to do what? Whatever it is. I do they're

well, you know, that's okay. I was really it's really fun to see everybody that has popped in. Because you had multiple Poppins, haven't you? You've had Durkee double shot James Durkee. You had Yeah, yeah. Larry brew of the Husker Elvis's. And then yeah, and then yesterday, you had the you had three of the four amigos didn't Yeah.

We had Caitlin and, and Dave tusky came to visit. Not Not yesterday, but the day before. Okay. And Dustin Harris came to Denver for the weekend. So he came to see me with together the other guys. And then he was also hanging out with me last night watching the Super Bowl by awake less. Was that one of the most amazing Super Bowl games you've ever seen? It

was it was very good. It was very competitive. And I liked that. And I certainly enjoyed the game. i The game is the big thing for me. The commercials, you know, I were okay. The halftime show. While it is not my type of music, my thought was okay, but I thought Chris Stapleton did a great job with the national anthem. So that is my opinion.

Chris Stapleton was fantastic. The commercials were extremely weird this year. I felt like I felt like you had to have somebody analyze them for you.

Yeah, there was none. In in my in my, as far as I was concerned, there was none that were really monumental like, like in years past.

No, no, there was nothing that stood out for me. No,

but but it's still good. It's an event. We had a little homemade pizza. Hopefully you had Oh, wonderful. Yeah, hopefully you had some snacks or some some cokes or some chips or some dips or something there.

We had some cheese popcorn. And, and yes, we had a we had a really nice time.

Good. Well, very good. Well, good to hear that. So we'd love to

chat with you further. But my rehab is giving me the stink guy. I need to get back at it.

They're they're looking at their watch and saying, okay, come on. All right. Well, that's awesome. Well, you bet you'd call any time whenever you want. Even when you get back home. If you're not even working. You can call we could do coffee, talk over the phone, maybe during open mic or something.

I'm anxious to do coffee with you my friend.

Well, so am I miss doing that? So that's awesome. Good to hear that. All right. Well, we've been Yeah, we've got a beautiful sunshiny day. Everybody. You bet I'm I hope that a lot of folks are here and all all that and glad to hear. I know. I haven't talked to you by my have kind of electronically and then mail wise. done some things but haven't really talked to you. So it's good to talk to you for the first time and gosh, a month. Wow.

I know.

That's crazy. Well, you take it easy as always. And I will see if I can sell that curling iron and the Flintstones minus the Barney's Okay.

That sounds like the plan.

All right. And whatever you can get for him. $50 or whatever. All right, that sounds good. Hey, all right. Jason, good to hear from you. Best wishes. The whole town is praying for you and wants you back. So come on back whenever you can. But don't rush it. Let's let's get you. Let's get you back in good shape, and then we'll get you back on the air. Okay. That's the plan. Glad. All right. Hey, thank you. I do have another caller. So I better go. Thank you so much for calling. All right. Thank you. Bye, bye. Oh, that is so awesome. So good to hear from Jason that, that that I knew right away who it was even though this was not none of this was set up. There was nothing set up. I did not know he was going to call, but I knew who it was right away. Anyway, you all probably didn't do so good to hear that. He'll be done with his rehab on Sunday. So a week from yesterday. We'll be getting back home. Hopefully shortly after that and then get settled. And then gradually get back in here and back in this chair. So that's that's what we want to hear. That's good. Okay, let's go back to the phones. Thank you so much for holding. Go ahead. You're on open mic.
