The Alliance Police Department issued a press release on Friday about details stemming from the hostage situation in Alliance on Thursday evening. Here is APD Police Officer Tyler Sherlock with details.
The female was identified as Yadira Garza of Alliance, and she was arrested shortly before midnight after walking out of the door and voluntarily surrendering. She was transported to the Box Butte County jail, and the investigation onto what caused this situation is ongoing.
The Alliance Police Department NSP SWAT team had arrived on the scene to assist in the ongoing situation.
The collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Box Butte County Sheriff's Office, Nebraska Game and Parks, Alliance Fire Department, Alliance Streets Department, Alliance Police Department, Scottsbluff County Sheriff’s Office, Scottsbluff Police Department, and the Western Nebraska Intelligence and Narcotics Group (WING), were instrumental in managing the incident.
