MILLS, Wyo. — The Bureau of Reclamation has reopened the access road to the Anchor Reservoir Campground.  The road was badly damaged by flood waters at the Owl Creek Middle Fork crossing on June 12. The crossing was temporarily impassable to vehicular traffic, and repairs were recently completed.

Anchor Dam and Reservoir are features of the Owl Creek Unit in Hot Springs County, approximately 35 miles west of Thermopolis via highways 120 and 170. The site is very remote and has a vault toilet and primitive camping.

Reclamation has four main managing partners between 19 recreation areas in Wyoming, with more than 100,000 visitors just at our state park areas every year.
