The Alliance Volunteer Fire Department was called to an apartment fire early in the morning on May 15.
The apartment fire call came in at 12:37 a.m. to 1271 Hammond in Alliance.
"We had an engine, aerial ladder truck, an ambulance and ten firefighters on the scene," Alliance Fire Chief Troy Shoemaker said. "The estimated damage is $2,000 to $2,500 dollars."
Shoemaker told Panhandle Post the fire is deemed "accidental and smoking materials contributed as the cause of the fire."
