ALLIANCE, Neb. — While many residents and business owners often assume the Alliance Chamber of Commerce and the Box Butte Development Corporation (BBDC) serve the same purpose, the two organizations each play unique roles while working closely together to strengthen the local economy.
That was the focus of the latest episode of the Box Butte Briefing, hosted by Olivia Hasenauer of Panhandle Post, featuring Sarah of the Alliance Chamber of Commerce and Jennifer of the Box Butte Development Corporation.
During the discussion, the pair explained that the Chamber's primary mission is to support and promote local businesses through networking opportunities, community events, advocacy and member services. BBDC, meanwhile, focuses on economic development by helping attract new businesses, supporting business expansion, administering loan programs and encouraging long-term community growth.
Although their missions differ, Sarah and Jennifer emphasized that the organizations frequently collaborate on projects that benefit the entire community. By working together, they combine business support with economic development efforts to create a stronger environment for existing businesses while encouraging new investment throughout Box Butte County.
The conversation also highlighted examples of projects typically led by each organization and explained why businesses can benefit from being involved with both. Chamber membership provides opportunities to build relationships, increase visibility and stay connected with the local business community, while BBDC offers valuable resources to help businesses grow, expand and invest in the future.
