Robert D. Tschacher, 82, passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 following an extended illness.
He was born February 14, 1938 at Chadron, Nebraska to Leonard and Josephine (Gasseling) Tschacher.
On September 3, 1963 he was united in marriage to June Witt in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Robert worked in the electrical field in Tennessee and for a time in the oil fields of Montana. Most of his working career was with BNSF as a pipefitter where he retired from in 1996. He enjoyed helping on the family farm through the years. He was a man of many trades and enjoyed a lot of outdoor hobbies. His greatest enjoyments in life were his family and friends. They were very important to him.
He is survived by his children, Deb Stefka and Cynthia Tschacher of Alliance, his son, Robert “Rocky” Tschacher of Alliance, his grandchildren, Gary Stefka, Denise Picket Pin, Tim Stefka and Cara Tschacher and 3 great-grandchildren, Riley and Dante Picket Pin and Emma Estencion. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Moeller of Alliance, Diane Hernandez of Iliff, CO, Linda Hatterman of Hemingford and Crystal Green of Gillette, WY along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, June, his sister, Patricia Harden, his brothers, Bill Tschacher, James Howard Tschacher and Leonard Tschacher, Jr and nephews Logan and Charlie Tschacher.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Tim Stoner officiating. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will be Monday, November 23 from 3-7 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home.
