NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A teen driver was transported to the hospital after his vehicle struck a tree in North Platte on Thursday afternoon.
At around 4:45 p.m., police and fire personnel responded to a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of 4th Street and Sheridan Ave.
It was reported that a vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree.
Reports indicate the 16-year-old male driver was traveling westbound on 4th Street when he suffered a medical emergency and struck the tree.
Airbags in the vehicle did deploy and the driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was wearing a seatbelt.
He was transported to Great Plains Health with injuries that aren't believed to be life-threatening.
