Richard "Dick" Fritzler, age 76, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 3, 1949 in Alliance, Nebraska to Alex and Dorothy L. (Nuss) Fritzler. Dick grew up in Alliance and graduated from Alliance High School in 1967. After graduation, he farmed for several years before beginning what would become a long and dedicated career with WESTCO. He worked there for more than 35 years, retiring in 2019 as the Agronomy Division's Manager.
On November 8, 1969, he married Barbara Laursen at St. John's Lutheran Church in Alliance. Together they raised a family that was the center of Dick's life.
He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and also belonged to the Eagles Club.
Dick found joy on the golf course, sitting in front of a slot machine, the camaraderie of football games, excitement in tractor pulling, and thrills at the race track. His love of racing gave him the opportunity to race around the track at Motor Speedway. This was one of his favorite stories to tel and always put a smile on his face.
Dick is survived by his wife, Barb Fritzler of Alliance, NE; his children, Bill Fritzler of Rushvill, NE, Angie (Kurt) Knudsen of Alliance, NE, Courtney (Biran) Buchholtz of Jamestown, ND, Michele (Adam) Simpson of Morrison, CO, and Sommer Fritzler of Alliance, NE. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kayla, Jacob, Brandon, Brady, Taylor, Dylan, and R.J.; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Macie, Kasen, landen, Jaxon, and Brantley; his great-great-grandchild, Zayden; his brothers, Alvin (JoElla) Fritzler and Allan Fritzler, all of Alliance, NE; and his brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Marlene) Laursen of Keller, TX and Richard Laursen of Alliance, NE.
