On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 5:50 a.m. (25 minutes before sunrise), the Scotts Bluff County Communications Center received notification of a vehicle striking a moose north of the intersection of Sugar Factory Road and County Road D, (approximately 5 miles north of the City of Scottsbluff).
Sheriff’s Deputies, the Scottsbluff Rural Fire Department, and Regional West Ambulance service responded.
