The Box Butte Development Corporation (BBDC) is pleased to announce Kelsey Ramos as its new Executive Director.

Kelsey Ramos brings a diverse background in small business ownership, marketing, photography, community involvement, and event planning to the position. As the owner of Camera & Co. Photography, she has spent the past several years working with families, businesses and organizations throughout the area. In addition to her business experience, Kelsey serves as the Secretary of the Hemingford Chamber of Commerce and played a key role in bringing Hemingford Fun Days back to the community this year.

“I wasn’t necessarily looking for a full-time position, but when this opportunity came up, it just felt right,” Ramos said. “Having children of my own, my love for this community has continued to grow, and I’m excited for the opportunity to be more involved and help build on the great things that are already happening here.”

As Executive Director, Kelsey will focus on advancing BBDC’s economic development efforts, connecting businesses with available resources, encouraging new investment and helping create opportunities for continued growth throughout Box Butte County.

“I know firsthand that running a business comes with a lot of questions, challenges and moving pieces,” Kelsey said. “I’m looking forward to being someone businesses can reach out to, whether they’re just getting started, looking to expand or simply trying to figure out their next step.”

"Kelsey's experience as a local business gives her the perspective of what it is like to start, operate and grow a business in the community," says Interim Executive Director Jennifer. "It's been a pleasure working in this interim role for BBDC, and I am excited to pass the baton and see her great leadership skills take our community forward."

Jennifer played a crucial interim role in supporting BBDC's operational growth and community engagement while the BBDC Board of Directors searched for its next executive director. BBDC thanks Jennifer for all that she accomplished during her time with the organization.

Kelsey will work alongside Stephanie Korth, BBDC’s Housing and Finance Manager, who has been an integral part of BBDC’s ongoing development efforts. The two will bring different areas of experience to their roles while working together on initiatives that support both business and community growth.

“I think Stephanie and I are going to make a great team,” Ramos said. “She has so much knowledge and experience, and I’m excited to learn from her while bringing my own strengths and perspective to the organization.”

BBDC is excited to welcome Kelsey to the team and looks forward to the experience, energy and new perspective she will bring to advance the mission: Partnering to Grow, Enhance, and Maintain the Economy of Box Butte County, Nebraska.

Community members are encouraged to connect with Stephanie and Kelsey to share ideas for the future of Box Butte County. Stop by the Alliance office (502 Box Butte) or visit Kelsey in Hemingford on Tuesdays at the Village Office (700 Box Butte).
