"There was a few large round bales that were close to a structure...a shed/shop and they ignited...and caught on fire," Rushville Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Kearns said. "We held it to that only, with the surrounding structures were protected so nothing else was burnt."

Kearns said the fire was caused by a lighting strike.

Panhandle Post asked Kearns how much damage the fire caused.

"I don't know what the contents of the building was, " Kearns said. " By the time we got there the electric line was still there. We had to wait for the fire company to get that removed and by that time it had fell inside of itself. Due to concerns with our own safety, we had to just go into a defense mode. It was pretty much totally involved when we first responded."

The fire was contained around 2 a.m. on June 25.

No one was harmed during the fire.
