Hemingford welcomes Dr. Travis Miller as the new Hemingford Superintendent for the 2022-2023 school year

Dr. Travis Miller is honored to be selected to serve as the next superintendent of Hemingford Public Schools. Travis is serving his eleventh year as the Superintendent of Bayard Public Schools in Bayard.
Prior to the superintendency, Travis served as a social sciences teacher, coach, staff development specialist, K-12 principal, and school board member. Travis is a lifelong Nebraskan who comes from a family of educators, as his parents are both retired teachers/coaches. Travis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney prior to earning three credentials from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. These include a Master of Education in Educational Administration, a Certificate of Specialization in Educational Administration and Supervision, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Studies with a specialization in Educational Leadership and Higher Education.
Travis has served as an AdvancED (Cognia) Field Consultant and a past member of the Executive Board of the Nebraska Association of School Administrators. Travis also serves on the Nebraska State Accreditation Committee and as a member of the University of Nebraska President's Advisory Council.
As a high school teacher, Travis was twice honored for his teaching with the Golden Apple Teacher Award sponsored by KOLN/KGIN and Wesleyan University. Travis was the 2009-2010 recipient of the Outstanding New Principal Award from the Nebraska State Association of Secondary School Principals.
In 2015, Travis and his wife, Andrea, were honored together as Distinguished Young Alumni by the University of Nebraska at Kearney. In 2021, Travis was recognized with a Distinguished Service Award from the Nebraska Association of School Administrators.
Travis and Andrea are the proud parents of five school-age children.
