Our next winter storm is approaching the area and will impact southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle beginning late this afternoon.
Northern portions of the area will be under a Winter Weather Advisory starting at 3 PM with the remainder of the area going into effect at 6 PM.
Widespread snowfall accumulations across the lower elevations including Cheyenne will range from 4-7 inches.
Higher elevations in the Snowys, Sierra Madres, and South Laramie Range could see up to a foot of snowfall including portions of I-80 near Vedauwoo and Arlington.
Hazards include slick and icy road conditions in addition to reduced visibility from falling and blowing snow.
During and after the snowfall, much colder temperatures are expected with Sunday night into Monday morning temperatures dropping below zero degrees Fahrenheit for many spots.
