GERING, Neb. — Weather permitting, work will begin June 8 on U.S. Highway 20 (US-20), from reference post 56.31 to reference post 58.50 and reference post 59.98 to reference post 60.33, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Simon Contractors, Inc., of Cheyenne, Wyo., is the contractor the project. Work includes concrete repair, asphalt paving, culvert extensions, sidewalks, flumes, grading and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions, temporary traffic signals and a pilot car with flaggers. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Nov. 2026.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
