GERING, Neb. – High Plains Christmas will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Legacy of the Plains Museum.
Activities will include crafts for kids, horse drawn wagon rides, toasting marshmallows, live Christmas music and other great activities. New this year will be the Scottsbluff Winter Farmer’s Market and Christmas Card Station.
Visitors will also be able to vote for their favorite displayed trees in the Trees along the Trail Christmas tree voting contest. The Trees along the Trail provides an opportunity for local non-profit organizations to decorate their Christmas trees. Votes cost $1 each.
Lunch includes homemade soups, bread and brownies ($6), and hotdog with chips ($5). Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Museum admission is free.
Later on that evening, we will kick off our Yuletide Lights program. We decorate our main exhibit hall with Christmas lights. The event runs from 4 to 6 p.m., and costs $5 for members, and $10 for non-members. We want to thank the VALTS students for helping us get the lights strung up.
