Peggy S. Carr, 74, died Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Box Butte General Hospital.
Peggy was born October 11, 1946 in Page, Nebraska to Harold L. and Margaret I. (Carson) Kelly.
She married James L. Carr on May 2, 1965 at the United Methodist Church in Page, Nebraska.
She and Jim moved to Alliance in 1979 where Peggy worked as a beautician at the Magic Mirror before later working at and purchasing the Towers Beauty Salon in Alliance. Peggy operated the shop until the Towers closing and later went on to again work at the Magic Mirror until her retirement.
Peggy gave her life to the Lord. She was a faithful and active member of the United Methodist Church where she served in various capacities. She especially loved her family and friends and was always there to lend a hand or kind word. She loved taking her grandchildren and great-grandchildren out for treats and video chatting with them. She also enjoyed scrapbooking. She was a member of the Box Butte General Hospital Auxiliary and often volunteered in the hospital gift shop.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Carr of Alliance; her children, Cathy and Steve Rabender of Gering and Mike and Kim Carr of Alliance; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother and 1 great-grandson.
A Celebration of Peggy’s life will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church. Pastor Gideon Achi and Jeanie Sedivy will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the United Methodist Church Columbarium. Friends may watch a livestream of the service on the church Facebook page, Celebrations of Life at Alliance UMC.
