The Miss Alliance and Miss Chadron programs are joining forces to create something bigger and better—the Best of the West Pageant! This exciting new event will bring together the best of what both programs have to offer while creating a fresh and unforgettable experience for contestants.
The 2027 Best of the West Pageant will be held Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Alliance High School Performing Arts Center.
The Miss Alliance and Miss Chadron programs are official local competitions within the Miss America and Miss America’s Teen Organizations. The programs are designed to promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living, and community involvement among young women across Nebraska.
The teen competition is open to female Nebraska residents ages 14 (by September 1, 2027) through 18 (By September 30, 2027), while the miss competition is open to female Nebraska residents ages 18 (By September 1, 2027) through 28 (By September 1, 2027). Contestants will compete in personal interview, talent, evening gown, on-stage question, and health and fitness.
Contestants will have the opportunity to compete for several special awards, including Community Service, Audience Choice, and Miss Congeniality that are separate from the overall scoring. A silent auction will also be held during the event.
In addition to scholarships, crowns, and prizes, the winners of the Best of the West pageant titles will go on to represent their local program and compete for the titles of Miss Nebraska and Miss Nebraska’s Teen in June 2027.
The pageant is also seeking area girls in kindergarten through fifth grade to participate in the Little Sister Program. Little Sisters will be paired with contestants throughout the competition, perform during the pageant, and escort their contestant during the evening gown competition. It is a fun opportunity for young girls to experience the excitement of the Miss America tradition firsthand!
Serving as emcees for the evening will be Miss Nebraska 2026 Lexie Nolda and Miss Nebraska’s Teen 2026 Ella Katherine Anderson, a Scottsbluff native and former Miss Panhandle’s Teen 2024.
