HAY SPRINGS, Neb. — Hay Springs Schools are providing counseling and support for students and staff following the death of an eighth-grade student in a weekend accident.
In a message to parents, school officials said they were “saddened to report that an 8th-grade student died in an accident.” The incident occurred Sunday, March 2, in Harding County, South Dakota.
To assist students coping with the loss, counselors and staff will be available at the school.
School officials urged parents and community members to be mindful of students’ emotional well-being during this difficult time.
