
Memorial Services will be Monday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel.
Phyllis Y. Briggs entered into eternal rest on August 19, 2025. Born to Pauline (Lembrich) and Enoch “Sam” Ginn on May 31, 1939. She was the middle child of their 3 children. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1957. She attended Chadron State College and earned her 2-year teaching certificate. She married David W. Briggs in Trinidad CO on May 29, 1959. To this union 3 children were born, Bart, Jon, & Kim. They settled and raised their family on the Briggs Family ranch North of Antioch. She briefly taught art at Central and Grandview elementary schools in Alliance. In 1970 joined Gene’s pharmacy where she remained until the pharmacy was closed. Afterwards she worked at the Pamida pharmacy until her retirement.
She was active in the Cowbelles with her mother-in-law, Vera Briggs. Phyllis prided herself on remembering people and their names.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandma.
She is survived by her son Barrett (Deb) Briggs of Monroe, WI, son Jon Briggs (fiancé Carrie) of Cheyenne WY, and daughter Kim Briggs (Paul) of Bellevue, NE. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Pam Briggs of Harrisonburg VA, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, her daughter in law Bernadine (Boness) Briggs and her great-grandson, Ethan.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
