&nbsp; The Nebraska football team announced its 2021 team award winners on Sunday evening at a banquet in Lincoln. The award winners were highlighted by a strong group of fifth- and sixth-year seniors who made their mark on the program throughout their Husker career. Tight end&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=41574">Austin Allen</a>&nbsp;earned a pair of awards following his record-setting 2021 season. An Aurora, Neb., native Allen picked up the Guy Chamberlin Trophy and Offensive MVP honors. Allen was the Kwalick-Clark Big Ten Tight End of the Year and a first-team All-Big Ten pick. He set school position records for receptions (38) and yards (602), and set a single-record record for receiving yards by a tight end with 143 yards at Wisconsin. Senior nickel back&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=41599">JoJo Domann</a>&nbsp;was also honored with a pair of awards, winning the Tom Novak Award and Defensive MVP accolades. Domann was a second-team All-Big Ten choice as a linebacker this season. He played in 10 games and made 72 tackles, including nine tackles for loss. He also had two interceptions and forced two fumbles.&nbsp; Senior defensive lineman&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=41678">Ben Stille</a>&nbsp;was honored with the Cletus Fischer Native Son Award for the second straight season. An Ashland, Neb., native, Stille had 42 tackles including six tackles for loss in his senior season. Senior receiver&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=42632">Levi Falck</a>&nbsp;was presented The Cornhusker Award, given to a player who began their career as a walk-on. &nbsp; The Chadron State College men's basketball team lost its first road game on a cold-shooting Friday in Salt Lake City, falling to the Westminster College Griffins in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. "We shot ourselves in the foot with 20 turnovers," said CSC Head Men's Basketball Coach&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/coaches.aspx?rc=551">Shane Paben</a>&nbsp;on the Double Q Country postgame show. "You're going to have a bad night shooting here and there, but we were just giving the ball away. You give away half the points off turnovers, and it's a dogfight. We can say it's injuries, but we weren't coming out ready to play. The other team took advantage of the situation." CSC was in charge early on a&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4663">CJ Jennings</a>&nbsp;three to open scoring. The Eagles led for the first six minutes before a dunk by Westminster's senior forward Yusuf Mohamed at 13:31 put the Griffins up 9-8, for their first lead. From there, the Griffins built their lead gradually, finishing the first half at their highest lead to that point, at 37-21. In the second half, the Westminster lead quickly ballooned to 20 points at 43-23, a little over two minutes into play. The Griffins maintained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game, ending up on top at 72-57. They led by as many as 25, up 70-45 at 2:56 to play. Chadron State gave up 24 points off turnovers in the game, versus 11 for Westminster. The Eagles' 20 giveaways were met by 15 by the home team. CSC shot 33.9 percent from the floor, with 32 percent from the three-point arc. Westminster dominated with 26-of-46 two-pointers, for 56.5 percent, but hit only 3-of-12 from long range. Though he exited with an apparent injury at 18:34 in the second half, Mohamed led his team with 16 points in only 15 minutes. He was 6-of-8 from the field and 4-for-4 from the foul line. Senior guard Matt Kitzman led the Griffins with seven rebounds. The Eagles'&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4652">KJ Harris</a>&nbsp;was the only player on his team to hit more than one three-pointer. He went 4-for-5 from downtown and 5-for-9 overall to lead CSC with 14 points. The Chadron State College women's basketball team (3-5, 2-1&nbsp;RMAC) fell short on the road against the Westminster Griffins (4-3, 3-0 RMAC) during a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference showdown Friday night.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Griffins, who have now downed&nbsp;three straight&nbsp;conference opponents, outscored the Eagles in three of the night's four quarters.&nbsp;They also held Chadron State to only eight points in the fourth quarter, which sealed the win for Westminster.&nbsp;

Westminster played a clean and efficient game, only committing two&nbsp;personal&nbsp;fouls in the first half and six in the second.&nbsp;Chadron State also only committed eight personal fouls&nbsp;but was not as successful in shooting free throws as the Griffins.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Eagles went&nbsp;37.5%&nbsp;on field goals (6-16) in both the first and second quarters&nbsp;to start the game. They also shot&nbsp;40% on&nbsp;three-pointers (6-15) and were held to no zero total free throw attempts in the entire half.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the Griffins set the pace&nbsp;by shooting 75% on field goals (12-16)&nbsp;and&nbsp;three-pointers (3-4)&nbsp;in the first quarter alone to take the lead 27-16. They&nbsp;went 3-3 on free throws in the second quarter and held a 14-point lead going into the second half.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Eagles' best performance came in the third quarter when they outscored the Griffins 21-18.&nbsp;The team shot 57.14% on field goals (8-14), 50% on three-pointers (1-2), and&nbsp;66.7% on&nbsp;free&nbsp;throws (4-6). The lone trey&nbsp;was made by&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8029">Samiyah Worrell</a>.&nbsp;

The fourth quarter was a different story for the Eagles. They were held to only eight points, which came from&nbsp;four field goals landed by&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4350">Jori Peters</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4351">Tatum Peterson</a>, and Worrell. By the end of the game, three different&nbsp;Griffins accounted for&nbsp;17 points or more while the Eagles had only one&nbsp;player&nbsp;to score in that range.

The Eagles will look to bounce back tomorrow at Colorado Mesa (7-1, 2-1 RMAC), who defeated Black Hills State (4-5, 2-1 RMAC) 77-71 in overtime Friday night.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Nebraska Volleyball advances to Regional Finals

News coming out of Lincoln from the Nebraska School Activities Association Wednesday.&nbsp; The NSAA has released it's latest enrollment numbers, the new enrollments determine the classifications for football in the 2022 and 2023 seasons and all other activities for the 2022-23 school year.&nbsp; It appears that longtime Class B teams...McCook...Aurora...Roncalli and  Alliance will be dropping to Class C-1,&nbsp; for football.&nbsp; &nbsp; 

According to the NSAA,&nbsp; the enrollment numbers for Alliance,&nbsp; for grades 9-10-11,&nbsp; will be below the 160-boys threshold for Class B football.&nbsp; &nbsp;The new figures project Alliance with 149 boys and 153 girls with total enrollment of 302.&nbsp; &nbsp;Alliance Superintendent Dr. Troy Unzicker says each sport is classified differently,&nbsp; but with football, which runs on a 2-year schedule cycle,&nbsp; the NSAA will use these latest numbers to set those schedules for the next 2 seasons.&nbsp; Putting the Bulldogs in Class C1.&nbsp; District assignments and classifications for C1, C2, D1,D2 and D6 football,&nbsp; will be set within the next week.&nbsp; &nbsp;Dr. Unzicker says classifications for other sports/activities will be determined in next year, but will be done using the latest numbers.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Five new schools will be opening in Nebraska.&nbsp; Omaha Buena Vista and Westview,&nbsp; Lincoln Northwest and Standing Bear and Gretna East.&nbsp; The two Omaha schools along with Gretna East and Lincoln Northwest will open in the 2022-23 school year.&nbsp; Lincoln Standing Bear is scheduled to open in the 2023 school year.&nbsp; These schools will be classified either Class A or B.&nbsp; &nbsp;How that impacts Alliance is still uncertain.&nbsp; The Bulldogs could remain in Class B in other activities depending on how the new schools are classified, and if other schools decide to option up or down a Class.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Dr. Unzicker says scheduling for other sports and activities probably won't be affected much.&nbsp; AHS will continue to compete against area teams.&nbsp; Being in the western part of the state, it is difficult to schedule games against only teams your size,&nbsp; without traveling long distances. 

Looking at what football schedules could look like in the next 2 years, Dr. Unzicker says the NSAA is changing the breakdown for 11-man football. Class A and&nbsp; B is 160 boys and above.&nbsp; &nbsp;Class C will be made up of the rest of the schools playing 11-man football.&nbsp; &nbsp;They will be split evenly&nbsp; between&nbsp; Class C1 and C2.&nbsp; &nbsp;Districts will be set on a regional basis, as much as possible.&nbsp; &nbsp;This will make traveling easier.&nbsp; Dr. Unzicker says in the next month or so,&nbsp; Activity&nbsp; Directors will be submitting lists of schools they would like to have on their schedules.&nbsp; The NSAA will then put the football schedules together for the next 2 years.&nbsp; They will be released in early February.&nbsp;

&nbsp; Nebraska Head Coach&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/coaches.aspx?rc=7076">Scott Frost</a>&nbsp;announced Wednesday, Dec. 8, the addition of two assistants to his offensive staff.&nbsp; Mark Whipple will serve as the Huskers' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, while Donovan Raiola will serve as the offensive line coach on Frost's Nebraska staff.&nbsp;The hirings are pending the completion of a University of Nebraska background check. "We are excited to add Mark Whipple and Donovan Raiola to our offensive coaching staff," Frost said. "Mark has four decades of coaching experience and brings a long record of offensive success to Nebraska. Donovan is an outstanding offensive line coach who has a history of winning as both a player and coach. I am confident their addition will have a positive impact on the young men in our program and the success of our offense." Whipple comes to Nebraska after three seasons in the same role at Pitt, where he directed an explosive Panther offense that helped the school to its first ACC Championship in 2021, and its first league title in any conference since 2010. The Panthers will finish the season in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, the school's first trip to a New Year's Six Bowl since the 2004 campaign. Whipple's Pitt offense ranked among the nation's most prolific units in 2021. The Panthers ranked in the top 10 nationally in scoring offense (43.0 ppg, 3rd), total offense (502.9 ypg, 5th), passing offense (350.2 ypg, 6th) and passing efficiency (8th). Pitt scored more than 40 points eight times in 2021 and converted 88 percent of its red-zone trips into scores. Individually, the Panther offense featured two of the nation's top skill players. Senior quarterback Kenny Pickett thrived under Whipple's coaching. A Heisman finalist, Pickett threw for 4,319 yards, ranked third nationally with 42 touchdown passes and was ninth in the nation in passing efficiency. Receiver Jordan Addison led the nation with 17 receiving touchdowns, while ranking third in the country with 1,479 receiving yards. "The opportunity to coach at a school with the history and tradition of Nebraska is special," Whipple said. "Coach Frost has a great offensive mind, and I look forward to working together with him and our staff to best position our players for success. I can't wait to get to Lincoln and represent Husker Football." The three years at Pitt represents the most recent chapter in Whipple's outstanding coaching career. The New York native owns more than four decades of coaching experience, including 21 years as a college head coach and six years of experience in the National Football League. Whipple spent the previous five seasons (2014-18) as the head coach at UMass, his second stint as head coach at the school after also guiding the Minutemen from 1998 to 2003. Overall, Whipple owns a school record 65 wins at UMass and guided the school to a Division I-AA (now FCS) title in 1998, and to three NCAA playoff appearances. Whipple also served as the head coach at New Haven (1988-1993) and Brown (1994-97). His New Haven teams went 48-17 with five top-20 rankings in Division II, and he guided Brown to 24 wins in four seasons. Overall, Whipple owns a 137-102 record in 21 seasons as a college head coach. Whipple's winning pedigree also extends to the NFL. He spent three seasons as the quarterbacks coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2004 to 2006, during Ben Roethlisberger's first three NFL seasons. In 2004, Roethlisberger was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and in 2005 Whipple helped the Steelers capture the Super Bowl. Whipple also worked as an offensive assistant with the Eagles in 2008, as part of Andy Reid's coaching staff, and spent two seasons as the Browns quarterbacks coach in 2011 and 2012. Raiola comes to the Husker program after spending the past four seasons with the Chicago Bears as an assistant offensive line coach. In addition to his time in the National Football League, Raiola also brings four years of collegiate coaching experience to the Husker program. Raiola has helped the Bears to two playoff appearances since joining the staff in 2018. In his first season in Chicago, the Bears posted a 12-4 record and captured the NFC North Division title. The Bears offensive line allowed just 33 sacks, tied for the third fewest in the NFC, while Chicago averaged 26.3 points per game, the fourth-best average in the NFC. In the 2020 season, Raiola worked with offensive line coach Juan Castillo to tutor an offensive line that featured six different starting combinations. Raiola assisted in helping a pair of rookie undrafted free agents develop into starters late in the season, as the Bears reached the NFC playoffs. Frost announced on Friday that former Nebraska Quarterback Mickey Joseph will join the Husker staff as Wide Receiver Coach/Passing Game Coordinator and Associate Head Coach.&nbsp; Joseph has spent the last five seasons as Wide receivers Coach at LSU.

"We are excited to add Mark Whipple and Donovan Raiola to our offensive coaching staff," Frost said. "Mark has four decades of coaching experience and brings a long record of offensive success to Nebraska. Donovan is an outstanding offensive line coach who has a history of winning as both a player and coach. I am confident their addition will have a positive impact on the young men in our program and the success of our offense." Whipple comes to Nebraska after three seasons in the same role at Pitt, where he directed an explosive Panther offense that helped the school to its first ACC Championship in 2021, and its first league title in any conference since 2010. The Panthers will finish the season in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, the school's first trip to a New Year's Six Bowl since the 2004 campaign. Whipple's Pitt offense ranked among the nation's most prolific units in 2021. The Panthers ranked in the top 10 nationally in scoring offense (43.0 ppg, 3rd), total offense (502.9 ypg, 5th), passing offense (350.2 ypg, 6th) and passing efficiency (8th). Pitt scored more than 40 points eight times in 2021 and converted 88 percent of its red-zone trips into scores. Individually, the Panther offense featured two of the nation's top skill players. Senior quarterback Kenny Pickett thrived under Whipple's coaching. A Heisman finalist, Pickett threw for 4,319 yards, ranked third nationally with 42 touchdown passes and was ninth in the nation in passing efficiency. Receiver Jordan Addison led the nation with 17 receiving touchdowns, while ranking third in the country with 1,479 receiving yards. "The opportunity to coach at a school with the history and tradition of Nebraska is special," Whipple said. "Coach Frost has a great offensive mind, and I look forward to working together with him and our staff to best position our players for success. I can't wait to get to Lincoln and represent Husker Football." The three years at Pitt represents the most recent chapter in Whipple's outstanding coaching career. The New York native owns more than four decades of coaching experience, including 21 years as a college head coach and six years of experience in the National Football League. Whipple spent the previous five seasons (2014-18) as the head coach at UMass, his second stint as head coach at the school after also guiding the Minutemen from 1998 to 2003. Overall, Whipple owns a school record 65 wins at UMass and guided the school to a Division I-AA (now FCS) title in 1998, and to three NCAA playoff appearances. Whipple also served as the head coach at New Haven (1988-1993) and Brown (1994-97). His New Haven teams went 48-17 with five top-20 rankings in Division II, and he guided Brown to 24 wins in four seasons. Overall, Whipple owns a 137-102 record in 21 seasons as a college head coach. Whipple's winning pedigree also extends to the NFL. He spent three seasons as the quarterbacks coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2004 to 2006, during Ben Roethlisberger's first three NFL seasons. In 2004, Roethlisberger was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and in 2005 Whipple helped the Steelers capture the Super Bowl. Whipple also worked as an offensive assistant with the Eagles in 2008, as part of Andy Reid's coaching staff, and spent two seasons as the Browns quarterbacks coach in 2011 and 2012. Raiola comes to the Husker program after spending the past four seasons with the Chicago Bears as an assistant offensive line coach. In addition to his time in the National Football League, Raiola also brings four years of collegiate coaching experience to the Husker program. Raiola has helped the Bears to two playoff appearances since joining the staff in 2018. In his first season in Chicago, the Bears posted a 12-4 record and captured the NFC North Division title. After giving up 49 first-half points, the Eagles held their opponent to 35 on 34.5 percent shooting, in the second half, to improve to 5-5 overall, and 1-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Eagles, in only 10 games, matched the five win total they achieved last season over 13 contests. They've also defeated Western Colorado in Chadron in six of the last seven attempts. Jennings' 32 points is second, only to Brian Rodriguez-Flores' 35 against CSU-Pueblo in 2019-20, for single-game scoring by a CSC player in the Chicoine Center. He tied the mark which&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4654">Teddy Parham, Jr.</a>, recorded against South Dakota Mines last season. Sophomore guard Matthew Ragsdale scored the first two buckets of the game, en route to a 7-2 Mountaineers lead, before a three-pointer from Jennings knotted it at seven apiece at 16:33. CHADRON, Neb. -- December 4, 2021 --&nbsp;The Chadron State College women's basketball team (3-4, 2-0 RMAC) prevailed 60-51 over Western Colorado (2-5, 0-2 RMAC) in a competitive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference contest.&nbsp;

Chadron State struck first to start the game.&nbsp;Three field goals were landed by three different players,&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8029">Samiyah Worrell</a>&nbsp;put away two three-pointers&nbsp;to go up 12 points&nbsp;while&nbsp;helping to hold&nbsp;the Mountaineers to only 4 points.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Mountaineers brushed off their slow start and surged for 20 total second-quarter points.&nbsp;They went 7-12 on field goals (58.3%)&nbsp;and 3-6 on three-pointers (50%) while the Eagles shot 4-15 on field goals (26.7%) and 2-5 on three-pointers (40%).&nbsp;One of those three-pointers belonged to Worrell while the other was made by&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4350">Jori Peters</a>. The score was tied 24&nbsp;apiece at the half.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Samantha Coleman of the Mountaineers landed&nbsp;back-to-back three-pointers to&nbsp;open&nbsp;the second half to give Western Colorado the lead 30-24.&nbsp;They held the six-point lead over the Eagles at the end of the third quarter.&nbsp;

With seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Mountaineers were up 48-39 and were looking to put the ball game away. The Eagles' defense stepped up big-time to secure three rebounds and three steals to help the offense explode for 24 total&nbsp;fourth-quarter&nbsp;points.&nbsp;Worrell swished two&nbsp;three-pointers in the final three and a half minutes&nbsp;to finally give the Eagles the lead heading down the stretch. Peters earned an assist for each of&nbsp;those clutch baskets.&nbsp;&nbsp;

After the three-pointers, free throws by&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4343">Bailey Brooks</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4644">Ashayla Powers</a>, and Peters&nbsp;as well as a layup by&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8017">Micheala Dammann</a>&nbsp;gave the Eagles a comfortable&nbsp;nine-point&nbsp;lead to end the game.&nbsp;Western Colorado committed 10 turnovers in the fourth quarter and was held to only nine points by the stout Eagles'&nbsp;defense.&nbsp;

"We played with a lot of heart and intensity," said Head Coach&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/coaches.aspx?rc=524">Janet Raymer</a>. "The bench played a huge role. I am&nbsp;very proud&nbsp;of everyone."&nbsp;

The Eagles will be on the road next weekend to take on the Westminster Griffins (2-3, 1-0 RMAC)&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;Colorado Mesa Mavericks&nbsp;(6-0, 1-0 RMAC).

 </figure>By: Zach Carattini, CSC Sports InformationCHADRON, Neb. -- December 4, 2021 --&nbsp;The Chadron State College women's basketball team (3-4, 2-0 RMAC) prevailed 60-51 over Western Colorado (2-5, 0-2 RMAC) in a competitive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference contest.&nbsp;Chadron State struck first to start the game.&nbsp;Three field goals were landed by three different players,&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8029">Samiyah Worrell</a>&nbsp;put away two three-pointers&nbsp;to go up 12 points&nbsp;while&nbsp;helping to hold&nbsp;the Mountaineers to only 4 points.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Mountaineers brushed off their slow start and surged for 20 total second-quarter points.&nbsp;They went 7-12 on field goals (58.3%)&nbsp;and 3-6 on three-pointers (50%) while the Eagles shot 4-15 on field goals (26.7%) and 2-5 on three-pointers (40%).&nbsp;One of those three-pointers belonged to Worrell while the other was made by&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4350">Jori Peters</a>. The score was tied 24&nbsp;apiece at the half.&nbsp;&nbsp;Samantha Coleman of the Mountaineers landed&nbsp;back-to-back three-pointers to&nbsp;open&nbsp;the second half to give Western Colorado the lead 30-24.&nbsp;They held the six-point lead over the Eagles at the end of the third quarter.&nbsp;With seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Mountaineers were up 48-39 and were looking to put the ball game away. The Eagles' defense stepped up big-time to secure three rebounds and three steals to help the offense explode for 24 total&nbsp;fourth-quarter&nbsp;points.&nbsp;Worrell swished two&nbsp;three-pointers in the final three and a half minutes&nbsp;to finally give the Eagles the lead heading down the stretch. December 3, 2021 --&nbsp;Both Fort Lewis and Chadron State missed their first three field goal shots and had two turnovers in the opening 2 ½ minutes of their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season-opener in Chadron on Saturday night.&nbsp; But after both finally scored in the next minute, the visiting Skyhawks went on a 12-0 run and were in command the rest of the way while winning 87-63.&nbsp; Fort Lewis was hot and Chadron State was not, particularly in the first half, when the Skyhawks shot 51.4% (19-37) including 6 of 15 on 3-pointers, and the Eagles hit just 32.1% (9-28) from the field and made only one of eight shots from behind the arc.&nbsp; Complicating Chadron State's shooting misfortune were 12 turnovers that helped the invaders own a 53-22 halftime bulge. Thirty-one of the Skyhawks' points came off turnovers.. The Eagles more than doubled their shooting percentage in the second half, when they were 17 of 26 from the field for 65.4%, but they never got closer than the final 24 points. The Skyhawks were led by their 6-foot-9 tandem. Senior Riley Farris scored 18 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds, while junior Brenden Boatwright tallied 15 points. Guard Akuel Kot with 10 points was Fort Lewis' only other double-figure scorer, but four more Skyhawks added at least seven points. Skyhawks sour return home for Eagles in RMAC opener

CHADRON, Neb. -- December 3, 2021 --&nbsp;The Chadron State College women's basketball team (2-4, 1-0 RMAC)&nbsp;defeated the Fort Lewis Skyhawks (1-5, 0-1 RMAC)&nbsp;72-49&nbsp;Friday night&nbsp;in their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference&nbsp;game&nbsp;of the season.&nbsp;&nbsp;

It was a balanced team effort that drove the Eagles to their&nbsp;biggest win of the season&nbsp;so far. Multiple&nbsp;Eagles&nbsp;scored in&nbsp;double figures,&nbsp;and four different&nbsp;players secured seven or&nbsp;more&nbsp;rebounds.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Multiple lead changes occurred in the first half between the Eagles and Skyhawks. Fort Lewis jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the game after&nbsp;a three-pointer by Alyssa Adams and a layup and free throw by Sydney Candelaria.&nbsp;After a made jump shot by&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8013">Emily Achter</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8029">Samiyah Worrell</a>&nbsp;helped the Eagles' offense&nbsp;by landing back-to-back three-pointers to make it 8-6. The two teams&nbsp;traded blows throughout the first quarter, which ended 16-15 Eagles.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Offenses for both teams continued to thrive heading into the second quarter. A layup and&nbsp;a three-pointer by Candelaria put the Skyhawks on top 26-22, which would be their last lead of the game.&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4350">Jori Peters</a>&nbsp;made a statement&nbsp;down the stretch&nbsp;by securing two defensive rebounds&nbsp;and landing three jump-shots outside the paint, one of which was a buzzer-beater to close out the first half 34-28.&nbsp;&nbsp;

In the second half, the Eagles' defense surged, holding Fort Lewis to&nbsp;29.6% on field goals (8-27)&nbsp;and 0% on three-pointers (0-10).&nbsp;Chadron State secured&nbsp;20&nbsp;total&nbsp;defensive&nbsp;rebounds during the third&nbsp;and fourth quarters,&nbsp;four&nbsp;of which came from&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8024">Olyvia Pacheco</a>, who also blocked two of Candelaria's layups.&nbsp;Pacheco&nbsp;finished with a team-high eight rebounds to close out the night.&nbsp;&nbsp;

<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4644">Ashayla Powers</a>&nbsp;enjoyed one of the best games of her career Friday night. She&nbsp;led the team in field goals (7-9), field goal percentage (77.8%), free throws (10-11), and total points (24). The freshman forward will look to continue her hot streak&nbsp;going forward.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Eagles will&nbsp;continue conference&nbsp;play&nbsp;when they&nbsp;host Western Colorado (2-4, 0-1 RMAC) Saturday night&nbsp;in the Chicoine Center.&nbsp;&nbsp;

 </figure>By: Zach Carattini, CSC Sports InformationCHADRON, Neb. -- December 3, 2021 --&nbsp;The Chadron State College women's basketball team (2-4, 1-0 RMAC)&nbsp;defeated the Fort Lewis Skyhawks (1-5, 0-1 RMAC)&nbsp;72-49&nbsp;Friday night&nbsp;in their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference&nbsp;game&nbsp;of the season.&nbsp;&nbsp;It was a balanced team effort that drove the Eagles to their&nbsp;biggest win of the season&nbsp;so far. Multiple&nbsp;Eagles&nbsp;scored in&nbsp;double figures,&nbsp;and four different&nbsp;players secured seven or&nbsp;more&nbsp;rebounds.&nbsp;&nbsp;Multiple lead changes occurred in the first half between the Eagles and Skyhawks. Fort Lewis jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the game after&nbsp;a three-pointer by Alyssa Adams and a layup and free throw by Sydney Candelaria.&nbsp;After a made jump shot by&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8013">Emily Achter</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8029">Samiyah Worrell</a>&nbsp;helped the Eagles' offense&nbsp;by landing back-to-back three-pointers to make it 8-6. The two teams&nbsp;traded blows throughout the first quarter, which ended 16-15 Eagles.&nbsp;&nbsp;Offenses for both teams continued to thrive heading into the second quarter. A layup and&nbsp;a three-pointer by Candelaria put the Skyhawks on top 26-22, which would be their last lead of the game.&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4350">Jori Peters</a>&nbsp;made a statement&nbsp;down the stretch&nbsp;by securing two defensive rebounds&nbsp;and landing three jump-shots outside the paint, one of which was a buzzer-beater to close out the first half 34-28.&nbsp;&nbsp;In the second half, the Eagles' defense surged, holding Fort Lewis to&nbsp;29.6% on field goals (8-27)&nbsp;and 0% on three-pointers (0-10).&nbsp;Chadron State secured&nbsp;20&nbsp;total&nbsp;defensive&nbsp;rebounds during the third&nbsp;and fourth quarters,&nbsp;four&nbsp;of which came from&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8024">Olyvia Pacheco</a>, who also blocked two of Candelaria's layups.&nbsp;Pacheco&nbsp;finished with a team-high eight rebounds to close out the night.&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4644">Ashayla Powers</a>&nbsp;enjoyed one of the best games of her career Friday night. Alliance High School hosted the B-6 Unified Bowling District Tournament,&nbsp; December 1,&nbsp; at Bowl-Mor Lanes.&nbsp; Alliance competed with other Panhandle schools which included... Bridgeport, Gordon-Rushville, Ogallala, Scottsbluff and South Platte.&nbsp; &nbsp;Following the competition Alliance was crowned District Champion,&nbsp; finishing with a score of 1034.&nbsp; Ogallala was the runner up at 855.&nbsp; &nbsp;Rounding out the field...Gordon-Rushville-753,&nbsp; South Platte-737,&nbsp; Bridgeport-713,&nbsp; Scottsbluff-583.

Alliance now will compete in the Class B State Championships on December 6, at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln. The State Tournament begins with opening ceremonies at 8:00 am (CT). The event will run through the day with the State Championship matches beginning at 1:30 pm (CT).&nbsp; 

This will be the 5th time AHS has qualified for the State Tournament in the 6 year history of Unified Bowling becoming a sanctioned sport by the Nebraska School Activities Association.&nbsp; The Bulldogs were State Champions in 2017.&nbsp;

&nbsp; The Nebraska volleyball team was selected as the No. 10 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament Sunday night and will host the NCAA first and second rounds at the Bob Devaney Sports Center this coming weekend. The Huskers, making their 40th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, will open the tournament on Friday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. (MT) against Campbell (21-9), champions of the Big South Conference. The 3:30 p.m. (MT) match will feature Florida State (19-9) of the Atlantic Coast Conference and Kansas State (15-12) of the Big 12 Conference. Friday's winners will meet on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. (MT) Louisville, Texas, Pitt and Wisconsin received the top four seeds from the NCAA Tournament Committee. Should those teams all advance past the first weekend, they would host an NCAA Regional the following weekend. Nebraska is in the same region as Texas along with No. 7 national seed Kentucky and No. 15 Washington. The Huskers would have an opportunity to host an NCAA Regional only if they advance past the opening two rounds and Texas and Kentucky were upset in the first or second round. Tickets to the first and second rounds in Lincoln are available for purchase online at Huskers.com/tickets as of Sunday night. Husker Volleyball earns #10 seed in NCAA Tournament

&nbsp; After falling behind early, the Chadron State College men's basketball team won big in San Juan on Saturday, downing the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras 79-65 for its second win in as many days in the Puerto Rico Classic. With CSC's third consecutive win, it improved to 3-4 this season, all in non-conference play. "Today our effort was great," said CSC Head Men's Basketball&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/coaches.aspx?rc=551">Shane Paben</a>. "Everybody stepped up on our team. They did a great job finding ways to help our team. Every individual is given credit for that. We still have some things to work on, of course, but this was a total team effort." The Roosters went on a 9-3 run to begin the game, before a layup by CSC's&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8007">Beau Bragg</a>&nbsp;cut it to a four point difference at 16:30. The Eagles shot 35.4% on field goals (23-65), 29.2% on three-pointers (7-24), and 68.2% on free throws (15-22) while the Lancers shot 26.8% on field goals (15-56), 27.3% on three-pointers (6-22) and 70.6% on&nbsp;free throws (12-17)&nbsp;
