&nbsp; CHADRON, Neb. -- February 3. 2021 --&nbsp;Chadron State College Head Football Coach&nbsp;Jay Long&nbsp;announced on Wednesday the 26 names of high school student-athletes to sign National Letters of Intent to play for the Eagles, on the first day of the 2021 signing period. "It takes an army to recruit student-athletes," said Long, "and we'd like to thank the CSC admissions department, our faculty and staff, and our current players, for all their hard work. The coaching staff did a great job addressing needs. The thing that stands out to me about our class is speed. I'm also really proud that more than half of our signees qualified for academic scholarships." The 26 new players break down very neatly into position groups. There are two quarterbacks, two running backs, four wide receivers, two tight ends, four offensive linemen, two defensive linemen, three linebackers, four defensive backs, two all-purpose athletes, and one kicking specialist. The quarterbacks are&nbsp;James Opio&nbsp;of Portland, Maine, and&nbsp;Preston Pearson&nbsp;of Kearney, Nebraska. Opio&nbsp;was a participant in the 2020 Maine Elite Passing Camp. Pearson was a Lincoln Journal-Star First Team Super State member as an athlete. Joining the running back corps are&nbsp;Kinyatah Morgan, of Brooksville, Florida, and&nbsp;Brock Ping, of Billings, Montana. Morgan averaged 10 yards per carry over three seasons at Nature Coast Technical High in Florida, including 12.7 per attempt last fall. Ping is an All-State selection whose team won state titles in 2017 and 2018, and finished as runner up last fall. Four receivers signing up were&nbsp;Daniel Becerra&nbsp;of Tucson, Arizona,&nbsp;John Bennett, from Miami Springs, Florida,&nbsp;Jamal Browder, a North Miami native, and&nbsp;Jackson White, who hails from Lakewood, Colorado. Becerra was an Arizona 5A-6A First Team All-State selection last fall. Bennett made the All-Dade County First Team in 2020. Browder was recently named the MVP of his high school Hotbed All-Star Game. Finally, White was a 5A JeffCo League First Team player this past season. The two tight ends are&nbsp;Rodarial Abercrombie&nbsp;and&nbsp;Braydon Rowe. Abercrombie, a San Bernadino, California, resident,&nbsp;played on the 2019 state runner-up team in his division in his most recent season, and he also made Team MVP on some very successful basketball teams. Rowe is a 2020 All-Conference honorable mention recipient from Erie, Colorado. Four new offensive linemen set to join the team are&nbsp;Remington Ferree, of Thermopolis, Wyoming,&nbsp;Vincent Mosley, of Fort Collins, Colorado,&nbsp;Scott O'Dell&nbsp;of Gillette, Wyoming, and&nbsp;Jonathan Tejada&nbsp;of Los Angeles. Ferree&nbsp;is a two-time Wyoming 2A All-State lineman. Mosley earned First Team All-Conference at Fort Collins High in 2019. O'Dell&nbsp;was a All-State Second Team selection last fall, and was invited to the 2021 Shrine Game. Tejada&nbsp;last played in 2019, when he was a First Team All-Western League pick at Venice High. On the defensive side of the ball, two student-athletes signed to play in the trenches. They are&nbsp;Isaiah Guerue, a two-time All-State honorable mention and Eight-man All-Star Game selection from Morrill, Nebraska, and&nbsp;Tanner True, a two-time Colorado 2A All-State selection and 2020 state champ at Eaton High in Colorado. The linebackers are&nbsp;Brock Love,&nbsp;Logan O'Brien, and&nbsp;Saxon Wright. Love is an All-State honorable mention player at Lehi High in Utah. O'Brien earned the same honor, this past season at Kearney Catholic High. Wright was the No. 3 busiest tackler in all classes of Colorado football, as a junior in 2019, helping his team to the Class 3A title three times and the 4A finals his senior year. In the final position group, four defensive backs, including three from Florida, will be in the mix this fall.&nbsp;Dedric Hall&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kyle McIntosh&nbsp;are teammates, along with the running back Morgan, at Nature Coast Technical in Brooksville. Both boast impressive superlatives. Hall was his district's overall Player of the Year and his league's Offensive Player of the Year. McIntosh was his county's Defensive Player of the Year and holds his school's 400 meter dash record. The other Floridian in the group is&nbsp;Joshua Sink&nbsp;of Orlando, a six-foot-plus high jumper in track and field, who was invited to the 2020 Cure Bowl All-Star Game. Rounding out the list is Stanton, Nebraska, native&nbsp;Sutton Pohlman, who recorded 305 career tackles on defense and 40 career touchdowns on offense at Stanton High. The kicker,&nbsp;Brodie Eisenbraun&nbsp;of Sturgis Brown High in South Dakota, is the lone native of the Mount Rushmore State to sign an NLI thus far in the 2021 class. Eisenbraun is a two-time Class 11-AA All-State punter, and simultaneously earned All-Conference honors in two seasons of soccer his final two years of high school. A pair of all-purpose athletes, who may be relied on as return specialists, come from Colorado and Florida. "Abdi" Ali is a speedster who did it all for his high school of Crawford High in San Diego. As Ali enters his senior season, he has been named an "All-Prep" wide receiver by SDFootball.net. The other athlete is&nbsp;Daymond Hill&nbsp;of Cheyenne Mountain High in Colorado Springs. Hill totaled more than 1,500 all-purrpose yards as a junior in 2019, when he ran for 858 yards, had 415 yards receiving, and gained 268 yards on returns. Chadron State signs impressive class of football recruits Wednesday

&nbsp; CHADRON, Neb. -- February 2, 2021 --&nbsp;Due to Covid concerns and in accordance with Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference policy, the Chadron State College women's basketball team will not travel to Pueblo or Alamosa, Colo. for its scheduled games this Friday and Saturday against CSU-Pueblo and Adams State. No makeup dates are available yet. These are games seven and eight that have been postponed during this unique year. The women Eagles' next scheduled game is on February 13 at home against the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs at 5:30 p.m. in the Chicoine Center. New Mexico Highlands, which was scheduled for February 12, has opted out of the season.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Samuel Girard, Andre Burakovsky and Nathan MacKinnon had two assists as 10 players had points. Philipp Grubauer made 19 saves for his NHL-best sixth win. Matt Dumba scored and Kaapo Kahkonen stopped 28 shots for Minnesota.

&nbsp; The Chadron State College women's basketball team faced off against the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners on Saturday night. Falling 83-67 at home, the team moves to 0-8 on the season, with MSU Denver improving to 8-5 overall, with a 7-4 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference record. The Eagles got on the board first thanks to&nbsp;Jori Peters&nbsp;but the Roadrunners were soon to strike back, scoring 9 of the next 11 points. Still, the game remained a one possession margin for most of the first quarter, and MSU Denver led 15-14 headed into the second. CSC took its biggest lead of the night at 22-15, after&nbsp;Olivia Waufle&nbsp;hit her first two three-point attempts and Peters swished an inbounds pass from&nbsp;Bailey Brooks&nbsp;while standing on the arc. Five points by MSUD's Kendra Parra and four from Peyton Taylor in the waning minutes of the first half erased the Eagles' lead and sent the Roadrunners into halftime with a 33-29 advantage. By the half, CSC was 11-for-23 on field goals and 2-of-3 from three, as well as 5-of-6 from the foul line. The Roadrunners came out strong in the second half and took a nine-point lead in the first two and a half minutes. They increased it to 53-43 by the end of the third quarter. After starting the game 3-for-9 from the three-point arc, MSU Denver drained a remarkable 8-of-16 in the second half to extend its lead to the largest of the night at the final buzzer. The winners had two players in double-figure scoring. MSUD Denver guard Kendra Parra was a perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line while knocking down 4-of-10 from three, to register 26 points total. Forward Allie Navarette connected on 9-of-15 field goal attempts overall, going 3-for-4 from long range, finishing with 23 points. Tosjanae Bonds, a diminutive guard, put forth a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jori Peters&nbsp;and&nbsp;Ashayla Powers&nbsp;led the CSC team with 17 points on the night with&nbsp;Olivia Waufle&nbsp;close behind with 12. Powers was 7-for-8 in free throws and and&nbsp;Bailey Brooks&nbsp;was 5-for-6 while securing nine points. Waufle hit all three of the team's three-pointers, out of four attempts. CSC only had seven turnovers in the game, after averaging nearly 16 through the previous seven games. Only the six committed at Westminster College were lower.&nbsp; The Eagles played without three of their top five scorers, due to various illnesses and injuries, until&nbsp;Hazel Fui&nbsp;entered the game with 3:46 to play in the fourth quarter. Fui scored just two points in two minutes. Leading scorer&nbsp;Taryn Foxen&nbsp;remained out because of extended missed practice due to illness. &nbsp; The Eagles came off a tough loss against UCCS on Thursday night, 3-1 by opening up their home-opener Friday against the South Dakota Mines Hardrockers with a sweep, 3-0. Their conference record moved to 1-1. The Eagles won the first point in the match and took a brief lead in the first set. It was back and forth for a few points and the Hardrockers found themselves tied at 9-9. The tie did not last long, however. At 11-14, the tide changed for the Eagles and they solidly regained the lead. Though the largest lead would come at the end of the set with a lead of eight points, 17-25, the away team would not get within two points for the remainder of the first set. Blocking was huge for Chadron State early on and proved to help them win the set. Similar blocking also proved to help them later on. Set two proved to be a challenge for all. The Eagles scored the first point and would take a lead that would last until 3-9 when the opponents slowly made a comeback. After losing control of their seven-point lead, the Hardrockers tied the game up at 18-18 and 20-20. At 21-20, the visitors took their first lead of the night, but it would not last long. A back and forth ensued. Leads volleyed back and forth as many times as the ball itself, it seemed. It took extra points to determine the winner of set two. Although Chadron State maintained the lead during the extra points, South Dakota Mines did not give up, tying it twice at 25-25 and 26-26. A crucial point for the set was the kill by Alexia Hurtado, winning it for the Eagles 26-28. &nbsp; A fight for the lead was no surprise early in the third set. The Eagles won the first point but soon had to come back from a scoring deficit which they did multiple times. Chadron State retook the lead at 10-10 and controlled it soundly with SDSMT not reaching within striking distance after that. CSC boasted their largest lead of eight at 15-23 and 16-24 until they won the final set and match at 25-17. The Eagles not only won every set of the match, they scored first in each set. Special consideration needs to be made for some of the big impact players of the game. Such players include Alexia Hurtado with 15 points, 32 total attacks and a set winning kill,&nbsp;Olivia Moten-Schell&nbsp;with 12 points, 12 kills (tied with Hurtado) and 20 total kills,&nbsp;Chandler Hageman&nbsp;with eight and a half points, 13 total attacks, and seven kills, and&nbsp;Amelia Berg&nbsp;with six kills, seven digs, and 12 total attacks. Other players of note are&nbsp;Karli Noble&nbsp;and&nbsp;Rhiannon Nez, each of whom played in all three sets. Noble had 16 digs and three service aces while Nez had eight points, five blocks, five kills, and four block assists. The CSC women's volleyball team will next face CSU-Pueblo on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Chicoine Center.&nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp; Colorado Springs, Colo.&nbsp;– The Chadron State College volleyball team suffered a defeat against the University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Thursday night in four sets, 25-16, 20-25, 25-13, 25-18.&nbsp; This was the first contest of the 2020 season for the Eagles who now hold a 0-1 record. The first set for the Eagles was a struggle until the end. For the majority of the set, the Eagles held the Mountain Lions to no more than a two- or three-point deficit. It was not until nearing the end of the set where the opponents began to widen their lead, ultimately winning the set 25-16. Although the first set got away from them, Chadron State had several great blocks. In order to win their 15th&nbsp;point, the Eagles staved off many attempts by keeping calm, communicating, and setting up huge blocks in order to come out of the volley with the point. Once play was slowed down, the Eagles were able to communicate and reset. Chadron earned the first point of the second set and did not give up the lead for several points. Until then, they had either led or tied, proving even further how evenly matched the squads were. UCCS found a way to come back at 6-5 and maintained the lead for some time after that. However, the Eagles maintained a valiant effort and regained the lead at 17-18. At any given moment in the set, the largest lead never exceeded four points whether for the home or away team. That is, until 20-24 when the Eagles went on to win the match point on a great hit by&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4334">Aracely Hernandez</a>. The Eagles earned a comeback win at 20-25 and evened play one set to one set. In the third set, the away team scored the first point, but it was not be a fruitful set. Although there was some back and forth for the first ten points, the Mountain Lions ran away with the set after 11-10. Chadron State went into a scoring drought and only scored three more times after that, allowing the largest lead to reach 11 points at 23-12. This lead was sufficient enough for Colorado Springs to secure the set 25-12. The final set was as challenging as the rest for the Eagles. After earning the first point, UCCS found its largest lead with eight points at 20-12. There was some hope for the visitors when they pulled with two points at 11-9 but that hope would soon diminish. The Mountain Lions won the set 25-18 Freshman&nbsp;Rhiannon Nez&nbsp;led the team with seven kills with&nbsp;Olivia Moten-Schell&nbsp;close behind with six. The pair would combine to earn 15.5 points.&nbsp;Karli Noble&nbsp;had 11 digs while&nbsp;Rylee Greiman&nbsp;and&nbsp;Amelia Berg&nbsp;combined for 10 points. The Eagles led all the way, although their 16-point lead with 3:51 left in the first half was whittled down to just 32-24 at halftime.&nbsp; The difference remained in single digits early in the second half before Chadron State warmed up again and they eventually went ahead by 21 with six minutes left in the second half. The Eagles shot 56 percent in the second half, including a 7 of 12 performance on 3-pointers. Overall, Chadron State hit 51.8 percent (29-56) from the field and 9 of 20 from behind the arc.&nbsp; Black Hills shot 56.1 percent (23-41) from the field, but was just 4 of 13 from long range and had 15 fewer field goal tries than the hosts. The Eagles' defense came up with 13 steals and the Yellow Jackets committed 27 turnovers in the fast-paced contest.&nbsp; CSC had 17 turnovers. Chadron State's double-figure scorers were&nbsp;Deundra Roberson&nbsp;with 17 points,&nbsp;Marcus Jefferson&nbsp;16, Teddy Parham 14 and&nbsp;Brady Delimont&nbsp;and Psalm Maduaker, both with 10. CSC crushes Black Hills State with smothering defense

&nbsp; CHADRON, Neb. – January 26, 2020 --&nbsp;The Chadron State Eagles women's basketball team opened its first home match with fans at the Chicoine Center with a 65-52 loss to the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets. While leading early in the game and trailing by only one point at the half, it would not be enough for the Eagles to secure their first win of the season. CSC fell to 0-7 on the season, all in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, while BHSU improved to 7-4. The Eagles led in the first quarter 12-10 but the Yellow Jackets fought hard. By the end of the first half, the Eagles were trailing by one point, 22-23.&nbsp;Jori Peters&nbsp;led the Eagles in scoring with eight points, hitting 2-for-4 three-pointers followed closely by&nbsp;Rachel Henkle&nbsp;with six points and&nbsp;Ashayla Powers&nbsp;with five. The first half was littered with turnovers with both teams being responsible for seven a piece in the first quarter and Chadron with four in the second quarter while Black Hills State managed to hold it to only one. It would be 11 points off turnovers in the first quarter and 16 in the second for BHSU. With only seven players dressing, the Eagles saw three players involved for the full 20 minutes of the first half in&nbsp;Olivia Waufle,&nbsp;Jori Peters, and&nbsp;Bailey Brooks. Black Hills State's Megan Engesser helped to revitalize the Yellow Jackets' hope in the contest shooting for 12 points, hitting 3-for-7 three-pointers. In the third quarter the Yellow Jackets furthered their lead up to 44-33, with 21 points for the opponents and only 11 for the home team. Once the visitors gained the lead at 21-20, they maintained it for the duration of the contest. The largest lead of the third quarter was 12 points, at 41-29, and 17 points for the last quarter, 56-39. The Eagles led in rebounds 7-6 and 11-6 and in offensive rebounds 3-0 and 5-2 in the third and fourth quarters respectively. They also acquired 15 second chance points. Jori Peters&nbsp;led scoring for Chadron State with 16 points in the game and 3-for-5 for three-pointers, for a clip of 60%.&nbsp;Ashayla Powers&nbsp;would follow closely behind with 14 points and 5-for-9 field goals.&nbsp;Bailey Brooks&nbsp;was the only Eagle to play all 40 minutes of the matchup. The South Dakota Mines women beat the Lady Yellow Jackets 66-50 on Saturday night in Rapid City. The BH women are now 6-4. Chadron State opening up Chicoine Center to fans for Tuesday's games

Alliance sisters,&nbsp; Shelby and Ashley Carr, recently competed&nbsp; in the first round of qualification for the American Legion Junior Air Rifle National Championship Tournament.&nbsp; Shelby is a Senior at Alliance High School and Ashley is an 8th grader at Alliance Middle School. They are the daughters of Kari and Josh Carr of Alliance.

Qualifing was held in Alliance on January 16.&nbsp; Shooters utilize a&nbsp; .177 caliber air rifle and fire 20 record shots in 20 minutes from the prone position.&nbsp; 20 record shots, in 25 minutes,&nbsp; in the standing position and 20 record shots, in 20 minutes, in the kneeling position.&nbsp; The targets are 10 meters from the firing line.&nbsp; &nbsp;After completing the three rounds of firing, Shelby's score qualified her to move on to the 2nd round of local qualifications.&nbsp; &nbsp;Alliance American Post #7&nbsp; Commander, Steve Stanec says ..."these will be held in Alliance in late March or early April at a time to be determined."&nbsp;

It was the second straight night the teams played extra basketball. The Nuggets won 130-126 in a single overtime Friday after rallying from a 14-point halftime deficit. 

Saturday’s game was even more entertaining. Murray hit an off-balance 3-pointer with Deandre Ayton in his face as time expired in regulation. Phoenix’s Jae Crowder responded with a 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds left in the first overtime. 

The Suns played without All-Star guard Devin Booker for the first time this season. Averaging a team-high 22.9 points, he hurt his left hamstring Friday.

Nuggets scorch Suns big lead to win in double overtime 120-112

&nbsp; BLOOMINGTON, Ind.&nbsp;- The No. 5 Nebraska volleyball team swept its second straight match at Indiana, claiming a 25-21, 25-16, 25-19 win at Wilkinson Hall on Saturday night. Lexi Sun&nbsp;had 11 kills, seven digs and three blocks to lead the Huskers (2-0), who&nbsp;opened a season with back-to-back sweeps for the first time since 2015.&nbsp;Madi Kubik&nbsp;had eight kills and seven digs, and&nbsp;Riley Zuhn&nbsp;had eight kills and three blocks while hitting .316.&nbsp; Lauren Stivrins&nbsp;turned in an efficient performance with seven kills on .429 hitting to go with six blocks. She tied teammate&nbsp;Callie Schwarzenbach&nbsp;for the team high in blocks, as Schwarzenbach produced six blocks with four kills.&nbsp; Nicklin Hames&nbsp;had 31 assists and eight digs as Nebraska hit .228 for the match. The Big Red turned in a stellar defensive effort, holding Indiana to .048 hitting, thanks in part to 12 blocks and 43 digs.&nbsp; Libero&nbsp;Kenzie Knuckles&nbsp;had a team-high 12 digs and added three set assists.&nbsp;The Huskers served four aces to two for Indiana. Both teams had seven service errors.&nbsp; Indiana (0-2) got 12 kills from Breana Edwards and nine from Tommi Stockham.&nbsp; Set 1:&nbsp;An ace by Knuckles started a 3-0 Husker run that put NU up 6-3. Kubik posted a pair of kills before one by Sun made it 9-5 Big Red. Schwarzenbach&nbsp;posted a block to make it 11-7, but a 4-0 Indiana run tied the set at 12-12. Schwarzenbach put the Huskers back on top with her second kill of the set, and she combined with Zuhn for a block before a kill by Zuhn made it 16-12 Huskers. After a kill by Kubik made it 18-15, Breana Edwards came up with a kill and a block to cut the lead to 18-17. Another kill by Edwards followed by a Husker attacking error tied the set at 19-19, but Stivrins terminated an overpass and Sun tacked on a kill to keep NU on top, 22-20. Back-to-back-to-back kills by Schwarzenbach, Sun and Zuhn gave the Huskers the 25-21 win. NU hit .314 and held Indiana to .200. The Huskers scored 17 of their 25 points via kills with all five hitters posting at least three kills in the set.&nbsp; Set 2:&nbsp;Kills by Zuhn and Kubik and an ace by Sun got the Huskers off to a 6-2 start. Hames connected with Stivrins for a pair of kills for a 9-4 NU lead, and the duo teamed up for a block that made it 10-5. Sun tallied a pair of kills around an Indiana hitting error to increase NU's lead to 13-7. Back-to-back kills by Stivrins and Sun kept Nebraska's lead at six, 19-13, and forced Indiana to use its second timeout.&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=41898">Keonilei Akana</a>&nbsp;came out of the timeout and fired an ace, and a solo block by the All-American Stivrins extended the lead to 21-13. Sun and Stivrins continued their dominance in the set with consecutive kills again, and the Huskers finished off the 25-16 win. Although the Huskers cooled off in set two, hitting .273, they held Indiana to just .027 hitting. Sun and Stivrins combined for nine of Nebraska's 14 kills in the second frame. Set 3:&nbsp;Just like on Friday night, the Huskers got stronger as the match went on. NU bolted to a 6-0 lead via two Sun kills and a block with Schwarzenbach. Back-to-back Husker blocks - one by Schwarzenbach and Zuhn and another by Stivrins and Zuhn - preceded a kill by Kubik that made it 11-4 Big Red. Hames teamed up with Stivrins for a block, and the junior setter served an ace for a 16-11 lead. Then a 3-0 run put Nebraska on top 19-12. Schwarzenbach posted a solo block before Zuhn smashed her seventh kill. Indiana crawled back to within 21-17, but kills by Zuhn and Kubik after a timeout switched momentum back to the Huskers. Hames earned match point for the Big Red with a kill, and the Huskers clinched the match at 25-19 on a block by Stivrins and Sun. NU hit .091 in the final frame but shut down the Hoosiers to the tune of -.027. Up Next:&nbsp;The Huskers host Northwestern next Friday and Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.&nbsp;

The Big Red turned in a stellar defensive effort, holding Indiana to .048 hitting, thanks in part to 12 blocks and 43 digs.&nbsp; Libero&nbsp;Kenzie Knuckles&nbsp;had a team-high 12 digs and added three set assists.&nbsp;The Huskers served four aces to two for Indiana. Both teams had seven service errors.&nbsp; Indiana (0-2) got 12 kills from Breana Edwards and nine from Tommi Stockham.&nbsp; Set 1:&nbsp;An ace by Knuckles started a 3-0 Husker run that put NU up 6-3. Kubik posted a pair of kills before one by Sun made it 9-5 Big Red. Schwarzenbach&nbsp;posted a block to make it 11-7, but a 4-0 Indiana run tied the set at 12-12. Schwarzenbach put the Huskers back on top with her second kill of the set, and she combined with Zuhn for a block before a kill by Zuhn made it 16-12 Huskers. After a kill by Kubik made it 18-15, Breana Edwards came up with a kill and a block to cut the lead to 18-17. Another kill by Edwards followed by a Husker attacking error tied the set at 19-19, but Stivrins terminated an overpass and Sun tacked on a kill to keep NU on top, 22-20. Back-to-back-to-back kills by Schwarzenbach, Sun and Zuhn gave the Huskers the 25-21 win. NU hit .314 and held Indiana to .200. The Huskers scored 17 of their 25 points via kills with all five hitters posting at least three kills in the set.&nbsp; Set 2:&nbsp;Kills by Zuhn and Kubik and an ace by Sun got the Huskers off to a 6-2 start. Hames connected with Stivrins for a pair of kills for a 9-4 NU lead, and the duo teamed up for a block that made it 10-5. Sun tallied a pair of kills around an Indiana hitting error to increase NU's lead to 13-7. Back-to-back kills by Stivrins and Sun kept Nebraska's lead at six, 19-13, and forced Indiana to use its second timeout.&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=41898">Keonilei Akana</a>&nbsp;came out of the timeout and fired an ace, and a solo block by the All-American Stivrins extended the lead to 21-13. Sun and Stivrins continued their dominance in the set with consecutive kills again, and the Huskers finished off the 25-16 win. Although the Huskers cooled off in set two, hitting .273, they held Indiana to just .027 hitting. Sun and Stivrins combined for nine of Nebraska's 14 kills in the second frame. Set 3:&nbsp;Just like on Friday night, the Huskers got stronger as the match went on. NU bolted to a 6-0 lead via two Sun kills and a block with Schwarzenbach. Back-to-back Husker blocks - one by Schwarzenbach and Zuhn and another by Stivrins and Zuhn - preceded a kill by Kubik that made it 11-4 Big Red. Hames teamed up with Stivrins for a block, and the junior setter served an ace for a 16-11 lead. Then a 3-0 run put Nebraska on top 19-12. Schwarzenbach posted a solo block before Zuhn smashed her seventh kill. Indiana crawled back to within 21-17, but kills by Zuhn and Kubik after a timeout switched momentum back to the Huskers. Hames earned match point for the Big Red with a kill, and the Huskers clinched the match at 25-19 on a block by Stivrins and Sun. NU hit .091 in the final frame but shut down the Hoosiers to the tune of -.027. Up Next:&nbsp;The Huskers host Northwestern next Friday and Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.&nbsp;
