Sherri K (Weisgerber) Feil, 74 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. Her memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Sherri, the only child of Pete and Dorothy (Leis) Weisgerber, was born in Scottsbluff on April 4, 1946. She attended elementary school in Minatare and graduated in 1964 from Bayard High School. She attended Rapid City Business College from 1964-1966. She was united in marriage to Gerald Fiscus in 1966 and to this union they were blessed with 2 daughters, Jennifer and Jama. Gerald and Sherri farmed in the Bayard area. Sherri and Robert Feil were united in marriage on February 14, 1992 and made their home in Scottsbluff.

Sherri worked as an administrative assistant for many years working for the District 10 Probation Office, the University of Nebraska Extension Center and most recently The Residency. She loved her years on the farm and especially enjoyed harvest and driving truck. She and Bob owned Lawn Enforcement for several years and thoroughly enjoyed operating their Walker mowers. She loved to spend time outside and work in her yard and on occasion take some time to go fishing.

Sherri was a member of Salem Congregational Church and was a past Auxiliary Chaplain for the Gideon’s International.

Survivors include her husband Robert of Scottsbluff, daughters Jennifer (Mike) Fosket of Mitchell, Jama (Warren) Shaulis of Sturgis, SD and grandson Cody.

She was preceded in death by her parents Pete and Dorothy Weisgerber.

Graveside services for Donald G. Kay of Chadron will be held Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery in Alliance, Nebraska. Don passed away at Chadron Community Hospital on July 26, 2020 at the age of 91.

Don was born June 6, 1929 in Sterling, Colorado to Dull L. and Stella (Fenton) Kay. He was raised on the family ranch west of Marsland. Don graduated from Chadron Preparatory High School with the Class of 1946.

Don Married Shirley Mae Morgan on August 13, 1947. He served in the Air Force from 1951-1954. Don and Shirley were stationed at several different bases. Daughter Patti was born while he was in the service. After his discharge they moved back to take over the ranch 13 miles south of Chadron that Shirley’s family homesteaded in 1885. Son David was born shortly after returning to the ranch. Don and Shirley along with son David continued to build onto the family ranch. Don and Shirley operated the ranch for over 65 years. Their ranch was an Aksarben Century Farm. Don and Shirley were inducted into the Dawes County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2007.

Don loved visits with his children, grandchildren, and especially great grandchildren. He had a passion for farming, ranching, raising registered Herefords, and maintaining his equipment.

Don served on the Dawes County ASCS board and was appointed to the State ASCS board by the then congresswoman, Virginia Smith. He was also a Dawes County Commissioner. Don was a member of the American Legion, Elks Club, Masons, Shiners, and the American Hereford Association.

Don is survived by daughter Patti (Pete Romanjenko) of Rapid City, SD, son David Kay of Chadon; grandchildren: Angie (Mike) Kuiper of Harrisburg, SD, Liz (Kevin) Ravenscroft of Nenzel, Ne, Kristen (Jake) Hunter of Chadron, Ne, Mike (Elena) Blundell of Hong Kong, China, Joy (Clay) Weaver of Rapid City, SD, Cathy (Scott) Leth of Torrington, WY; and great grandchildren William Kuiper, Kirk Kay, Emma Kuiper, Kayleigh Ravenscroft, Eli Hunter, Lilly Ravenscroft, Payten Hunter, Arianna Weaver, and Jaelyn Weaver.

He was proceeded in death by his wife of 71 years, parents, in-laws Robert Morgan and Mary Elizabeth Parkhurst, and brothers John Bryce Kay, Gordon Kay, and infant Eddie Kay; and sister Shirley.

The family would like to thank the staff of Prairie Pines, Chadron Community Hospital, and the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department.

Betty K. Lewis Antrim passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at the age of 94.&nbsp;

Betty was born March 1, 1926 to Grace and Joe Brungard in Chadron, Nebraska and moved to Alliance where she lived for the remainder of her life.&nbsp; She graduated from Alliance High School in 1943 and in 1944 married Captain Edward C. Lewis, who preceded her in death in 1976. &nbsp;In 1978 she married James Antrim, who passed away in 1998.&nbsp;

She is survived by her son, Dr. Michael Lewis and his wife, Ms. Deborah Anne Lewis of Arden, North Carolina.&nbsp; A special friend later in her life, Francis Saxton, passed away in March of 2020.&nbsp; Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was a Communion Steward for 25 years.&nbsp; She belonged to the Box Butte Hospital Auxiliary, Friends of the Library, and the Ladies’ Golf Association. She was a Past Honored Queen of Bethel #3 Jobs Daughters, member of the Knight Museum, and Carnegie Arts Center.&nbsp; Her family of three were avid golfers and Betty was a two-time SkyView Golf Course Ladies’ Club Champion.&nbsp; Family and numerous friends were the most important things in her life, and she loved them dearly.&nbsp;

Memorials may be given to Carnegie Arts Center, the United Methodist Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m. at the Alliance Cemetery with Jeanie Sedivy officiating.

Charles Wesley Lewallen, 76, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Box Butte General Hospital.

He was born on September 23, 1943 in Belleville, IL to Charles W. and Berniece (Rushel) Lewallen.

In January 1963 he entered service in the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in October 1966.

In September 1976 he was united in marriage to Janet H. Imler in Colorado Springs, CO.&nbsp; They moved to Alliance in 1979. Chuck was a retired machinist for the Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad.&nbsp;

He is survived by his wife, Janet, his son, Wesley A. Lewallen and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance at a later date.

Charles Wesley Lewallen (1943 - 2020)

Hans-Joachim Pollack, 76 of Alliance, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020, at his home in Alliance, NE.

Hans was born May 29, 1944, in Langenbielau, Silesia, Germany to Hubert and Louise Pollack. He married his wife, Angelika, on July 30, 1965.

He worked for Lines Bros. Toy Company in Germany before moving with his family to the United States in 1969. Hans then worked as a door-to-door salesman for Electrolux, before he began working at Green's Flooring installing carpet and tile. A few years later, Hans moved to Gambles Hardware, before beginning a factory career at Electric Hose and Rubber, which later became known as Dayco and in 1995 became Parker. Hans worked there for 30 years before retiring.

Hans enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Eagles Club for many years. An avid traveler, Hans loved to take his family on vacation every year and to take lots of pictures. He often traveled to the Black Hills or Walgreen Lake for camping trips. Hans and Angelika also loved to travel to Montana to visit their daughter and her family, often taking along some of the grandkids to visit their cousin.

Hans loved to visit his family in Germany. He enjoyed taking his family back home to spend time with his parents, brother, sister, brother-in-law, and nephews. Hans never lost touch with his German family. He was always writing letters or calling to see how they were. The family loved to use fax machines for long conversations and quick replies during the 80's long before the internet.

Hans is survived by his wife Angelika of Alliance, his son Stephan (Tonya), and daughter Janette and his grandchildren, Sydney (Dustin), Nicholas (Jacquelene), Kristin, Trevor, Eric, Dusty, and Kaylea. He is also survived by his nephews, Harald and Michael Schatte of Germany.

Hans was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wolfgang, and sister Elisabeth.

A service of remembrance will be Friday, August 7, from 5-7 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel. This will be a time of visiting with the family and sharing memories of Hans.

The family suggests that memorials be made to lung cancer research or an animal shelter of the donor's choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at 703 Niobrara Alliance, Nebraska 69301.

Darlene M. Hughes, 87 of Hazard, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at her home with her son David by her side. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2020 at Hazard United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Evans officiating. The family requests casual attire and masks be worn for the services. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Darlene and her twin sister, Donna, were born on October 16, 1932 to Truman and Vera (Rasmussen) Johnson at their grandparents (Aktor &amp; Anna Johnson) rural farm home near Pleasanton, Nebraska. As a young child her family lived on several rented farms in Buffalo and Sherman Counties. In 1944, the family bought an acreage in Hazard. Darlene attended grade school and high school there. She graduated in 1950 and her class was the last to graduate from there before the high school closed. She attended Kearney State College after graduation, taking Summer preparation classes, and began her teaching career that Fall at the age of 18 at the K-8 rural Newburg school. Darlene was united in marriage to her husband, Donald Lee Hughes on June 16, 1951. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage before Don’s passing in 2002. To this union were born three children, David Lee, Scott Dale, and Gay Lynne. Darlene resumed her teaching career once their children were old enough to attend school. She continued her college education, while teaching, by working hard, attending summer school and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1976. She retired from her 36-year teaching career in 1997. Darlene was confirmed in 1947 at the Hazard United Methodist Church and remained strong in her faith until the time of her passing. She was active in the Church helping with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, UMW, and various other offices within the Church. She was fully committed to her faith in God, her family and her friends. She loved them all deeply. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were extremely special to her and brought her much joy. Darlene will be remembered for so many things! She was the rock of the family and the glue that held us all together. She was humble and kind. She always had a smile and a hug for you. She did not know a stranger! She had a memory for every detail on family and community history. You could count on her to tell it like it was as not much got past her. She could run circles around most of us. She was very independent and blessed with great neighbors, family &amp; friends, but she pretty much maintained the farm by herself after the passing of her husband. She could be found in the kitchen baking or cooking something delicious just about any day of the week, and then sharing it with someone. Darlene always loved trying new recipes. Even at the age of 87, she could still throw down one heck of a family meal. People would comment on how nice she always looked from her head to her toes. She loved bright beautiful colors and always walked and did everything with a purpose. She took pride in her appearance and said “well, it doesn’t take very long to put on a little lipstick”. She was a person full of life and joy. You could tell her “have a good day Mom” and her reply would always be “I always have a good day; I have lived a good life and I thank God for it”. She never ended a goodbye without saying “I love you” and she will always be remembered as “Great grandma on the Farm”. She was simply amazing!!! She was fully committed to her faith in God, her family and her friends. She loved them all deeply. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were extremely special to her and brought her much joy. Darlene will be remembered for so many things! She was the rock of the family and the glue that held us all together. She was humble and kind. She always had a smile and a hug for you. She did not know a stranger! She had a memory for every detail on family and community history. You could count on her to tell it like it was as not much got past her. She could run circles around most of us. She was very independent and blessed with great neighbors, family &amp; friends, but she pretty much maintained the farm by herself after the passing of her husband. She could be found in the kitchen baking or cooking something delicious just about any day of the week, and then sharing it with someone. Darlene always loved trying new recipes. Even at the age of 87, she could still throw down one heck of a family meal. People would comment on how nice she always looked from her head to her toes. She loved bright beautiful colors and always walked and did everything with a purpose. She took pride in her appearance and said “well, it doesn’t take very long to put on a little lipstick”. She was a person full of life and joy. You could tell her “have a good day Mom” and her reply would always be “I always have a good day; I have lived a good life and I thank God for it”. She never ended a goodbye without saying “I love you” and she will always be remembered as “Great grandma on the Farm”. She was simply amazing!!! It was important to Loneta that she impart the faith to her children, and live the faith as best she could in life. Loneta loved spending time outdoors, traveling and camping. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and a good book. She married Antonio Gonzalez, Jr. on February 17, 1974 in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Maria had lived in Alliance for over 34 years.&nbsp; She worked as a migrant worker for 22 years and as an aid at Head Start for 8 years.&nbsp; She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio Gonzalez, Jr. of Alliance; her children, Antonio (Leta) Gonzalez, III of Alliance, Juan Carlos (Angela) Gonzalez of Alliance, Alejandro (Melissa) Gonzalez of North Platte, Emmanuel Gonzalez of Alliance and Jose Jesus “Joey” Gonzalez of Alliance.&nbsp; She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Thalia, AJ, Jayden, Desarae, Dominic, Cruz and Oaklynd; her brothers, Artemio Garza and Renato Garza both of San Juan, TX; and her sister, Maria de los Angeles Garza of Dallas, TX.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Raul and her sister, Dora Hernandez.

Because of financial concerns, he returned home to the family farm. On March 18, 1949 he married his life partner, Alice Emeline Reents in Henry, NE. Together they worked on the family farm until venturing out on their own. Dad was born to farm and enjoyed new challenges, risk taking and being independent and dedicated to hard work. Two folks who believed in Bob’s abilities and gave him support in the beginning of his farming career were Bill Flint and Elmer Harpstreith. He was forever thankful for their encouragement and friendship. Dad farmed in 5 counties and 2 states from Lyman, NE, Banner County, NE, Lagrange, WY and Sioux County, NE. Bob accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1960. His life was forever changed and focused on sharing Christ with anyone and everyone. His faith defined him. He loved his family and enjoyed all the memories he could have with family. He was a faithful friend also. He was a friend to everyone he met. To this union, two children were born. The family lived in Alliance, NE where she worked many years as the apartment manager at Lakefield Villas. Shelli was an avid bingo player and a longtime member of the Eagles Auxiliary Club in Alliance, NE. She was always up for a game of cards, a trip to the casino, or a nice visit. She always made time to be present for her grandchildren in any way possible, they were the light of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Bonnie Elwood, and in-laws Drexel and Wanda Smith. Louise Frohman (1939 - 2020)

Marty Kay (Evans) Osentowski was born May 21, 1963 in Rapid City, SD to Marion and Berteen (Trask) Evans. She passed away suddenly July 18, 2020.

Marty moved to the Sandhills in 1977 and her love for the area kept her here. She married Gaylen Osentowski on December 2, 1984. On March 17, 1991 they welcomed their son Kolt.

One would be hard-pressed to think of a time when Marty did not have at least one dog. She loved her dogs, horses, playing golf, and watching Kolt rope. She was fiercely competitive in a game of pool or cribbage and spent many evenings challenging friends and family.

Marty is survived by her husband Gaylen, son and daughter-in-law Kolt and Gina Osentowski, brothers Bill (Barb) Evans and Kelly (Carla) Evans, sisters Becky (Lonnie) Bell, Carol (Ron) Knapp, Jeanny (Lonny) Parmely, and Heather (Jeff) Penner, Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, her dogs Abby, Babe Hazel, and Toots, and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father Marion, mother Berteen, father-in-law Max, mother-in-law Hattie, many good dogs, and a few good horses.

Marty will always be remembered for living life her own way and for never knowing a stranger. She will be missed by many.

The family suggests memorials to the Pelican Beach Golf Club or to a memorial of the donor’s choice.

On March 17, 1991 they welcomed their son Kolt.One would be hard-pressed to think of a time when Marty did not have at least one dog. She loved her dogs, horses, playing golf, and watching Kolt rope. She was fiercely competitive in a game of pool or cribbage and spent many evenings challenging friends and family.Marty is survived by her husband Gaylen, son and daughter-in-law Kolt and Gina Osentowski, brothers Bill (Barb) Evans and Kelly (Carla) Evans, sisters Becky (Lonnie) Bell, Carol (Ron) Knapp, Jeanny (Lonny) Parmely, and Heather (Jeff) Penner, Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, her dogs Abby, Babe Hazel, and Toots, and a large extended family.She was preceded in death by her father Marion, mother Berteen, father-in-law Max, mother-in-law Hattie, many good dogs, and a few good horses.Marty will always be remembered for living life her own way and for never knowing a stranger. Ross Douglas Wills left this earthly world on July 8, 2020 to be in the presence of his Heavenly Father.&nbsp; He ran his race, keeping his eyes on the Lord and never gave up.&nbsp; He fought the good fight, never lost his faith, and obtained the ultimate prize—heaven!

Ross was born April 14, 1955 to Harold (Bud) and Betty Ann (Bartels) Wills. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1973.&nbsp; On March 20, 1987, he was united in marriage to Johana M. Brost.&nbsp; It was reported her father was extremely grateful.&nbsp;

Ross had many gifts and talents, his ultimate gift being a true salesman through and through.&nbsp; From Kirby vacuums to his favorite Ford vehicles, he loved every minute!

Ross enjoyed a 24 year career with Cover-Jones Motor Company in Alliance and considered everyone there part of the family.&nbsp; He loved selling vehicles and never knew a stranger.&nbsp;

In his spare time he could dance your socks off while singing every song with his beautiful tenor voice and he shared those gifts with others his entire life.

Ross was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in Alliance, Nebraska.&nbsp; He served on several boards and as an usher during his lifetime.&nbsp; Of course he also sang in the church choir and let his wife heckle him constantly.

Ross wanted to express his gratitude, appreciation, and love for all the visits, phone conversations, assistance, food, and most importantly the outpouring of prayers and love for him and for the family during his illness.&nbsp;

Memorial services will be Saturday, July 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard C. Mueller officiating.&nbsp; Following the service a light lunch will be served at Westside Event Center.

Joyce Elaine Lawrence, 83, went on to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Joyce was born on May 8, 1937 to William “Bill” and Genevieve Waldron in Alliance, Nebraska. She was the oldest of four siblings, Steve (Sandy) Waldron, John (Susan) Waldron,&nbsp; Judy (Larry) DeWeese.

She married the love of her life, Dale Lawrence on July 17, 1957 in San Diego, California where they lived in a small one room apartment while Dale served in the Navy. From their union they had three children: Michael (Laura) Lawrence of Lincoln, NE, Laurie (Clayton) Tomjack of Wahoo, NE, David (Paula) Lawrence of Columbus, NE.

Joyce was employed at Alliance Public Schools for 22 years as a lunch lady.

Joyce loved cheering on Husker athletics, no matter what sport it was, sending cards to all of her family and friends, winning games of Skip-Bo, and her grandchildren: Katie, William, Jenna, Matthew, Nathan, Kelsey, Kristen and Alex. Christmas was her favorite holiday of which she celebrated year-round. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren with gifts and decorating for the season.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m.&nbsp; at the First Presbyterian Church in Alliance with Reverend Jay Kim officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Bates-Gould Chapel on Friday, July 10 from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Stephanie Dawn (Madsen) Konopnicki, 68, lost her battle with cancer and went to her Heavenly home on July 3, 2020 at her home in Alliance surrounded by her family.&nbsp; She fought with unwavering strength and incredible bravery.

Stephanie was born on November 23, 1951 in Chadron, NE to Lawrence and Ulala (Hanna) Madsen.&nbsp; She was the oldest of 3 siblings.&nbsp; She was raised in Chadron and spent a lot of time at her family (Hanna) ranch in Seneca, NE.&nbsp;

She married the love of her life, AlDee Konopnicki on March 1, 1980 in Edgemont, SD.&nbsp; She was the mother of 5 children and 2 step-children.

Stephanie loved to paint. Her house is filled with her paintings.&nbsp; She also loved gardening. At one time in her life she had a massive garden and flowers everywhere.&nbsp; Stephanie worked a few jobs outside of the home but was mainly a mother and homemaker.&nbsp; After her children were grown and married Stephanie loved taking care of her grandchildren.&nbsp; They were her pride and joy, and she never complained once about caring for them.&nbsp; She watched 7 grandchildren every day after school and throughout the summers.&nbsp; She also cherished and loved many of her grandkids friends and always made them feel like her own.&nbsp;

She is survived by her children, Alexa Lucas, Vanessa (Jeff) Nepper, Jessica (Phillip) Caudell and Nicholas Konopnicki all of Alliance.&nbsp; She is also survived by her brother, Mark Madsen of Chadron and many grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jed Madsen, her daughter, Tangela Konopnicki, her husband, AlDee and her grandson, Darren Konopnicki.&nbsp;

Patrick Louis Moser was born in Tilden, Nebraska on July 7th,1951 to Louis George Moser and Mae Ruth Spieker Moser. He died at the age of 68 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home with his family in Hemingford, Nebraska on July 3rd, 2020.

Pat spent his early childhood on a farm in eastern Nebraska until his family moved to Denver, CO at the age of five. He attended Mt. Carmel High School and graduated in 1969 from Meritt Hutton High School in Denver. The following year he volunteered for the United States Army. He served as a special forces medic with Special Forces Group 7 out of Fort Bragg, NC. During his time in the military, he also earned his Airborne and Ranger tabs. Shortly after returning from the army in 1972, his lifelong romance with Peggy Lee Garner Moser began and they were married in 1974. Pat’s work with Burlington Northern Railroad moved the young couple to Hemingford, Nebraska where they would remain and raise their four children.&nbsp;

Pat was committed to hard work and excellence for his many years as a BNSF machinist. He served as a dedicated firefighter and EMT on the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department. He was a devoted member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, serving on the Parish Council and teaching religious education classes. He enjoyed playing on the Redwood Shed softball team during his early years in Hemingford. Pat’s love of learning led to many interests throughout his life: motorcycles, gardening, karate, woodworking, outdoor adventures and guitar. His loyalty, resourcefulness, helpful hands, generosity, and sense of humor were evident to those around him. Above all, he was deeply committed to his wife and family. Pat will be remembered for all these things, but perhaps his quiet confidence and steadfast love of Jesus were his greatest gift to us. Whether taking his children camping or helping a neighbor, Pat’s devotion to God laid the foundation to live honorably and love those around him in word and deed. His life brought laughter, stability, and a sense of strength to those fortunate enough to love him. He was, indeed, a noble man.

Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Louis Moser; his mother, Mae Spieker Moser; and three infant brothers. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his sisters, Pam Moser of Denver, CO; and Joyce (Bob) Forch of Stratton, NE; his daughters, Sarah (Carson) Bell of Nashville, TN; Ann (Richard) Lorenzo of Lawrence, KS; Mary (Matt) Garman of Los Angeles, CA; his son, Luke Moser of San Diego, CA; his nine grandchildren; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and beloved neighbors.

A private, family service will be held for Patrick on Thursday, July 9th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Hemingford with Father Tim Stoner officiating. &nbsp;An open, public memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Hemingford Cemetery following the family service. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family requests honoring those restrictions and practicing social distancing at the cemetery.&nbsp;

Linda Pierce, age 72, passed away June 27th, 2020 in Ogallala, Ne while visiting family. She was born to Milford and Alice (Hammer) Pierce on May 11, 1948. She was one of 17 children. Linda really enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great grandkids. She loved watching Thomas the Train, Paw Patrol and any other cartoons they liked to watch. She also enjoyed&nbsp;watching the Hallmark channel Christmas movies all year round. She loved&nbsp;cooking the best big family breakfast. Her other favorite hobbies were going to Bingo and casinos with her friends and family. She loved to argue with us&nbsp; about every little thing but always had a way to make us laugh. She will be dearly missed for her antics and her unbelievable cooking.&nbsp;

Steven R. Oliver, 42, died Friday, June 19, 2020 at Box Butte General Hospital.

He was born August 18, 1977 in Douglas, Wyoming to Chester M. and Debra E. (Fleck) Oliver.

Steven truly lived life to the fullest, in every way possible. He loved to spend time with family and friends. He also enjoyed going fishing, shooting guns, and being the life of the party, literally. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steeler fan.&nbsp; He had a huge love for babies, kids, and little kitties. We could always tell when Steven was around, the babies’ cheeks were always red and chapped from being sucked on by “Uncle Stebe” and the kitties heads would be stiff and spiked from him. Steven never met a stranger; he wore his heart on his sleeve. He loved everyone from every walk of life. He will be remembered by all as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his mother, Debra (Fleck) Lindburg of Alliance; his father, Chester “Chet” Oliver of Newcastle, WY; and his sisters, Amber (Forrest) Benge and Kassidy Oliver, all of Alliance.&nbsp; He is also survived by his niece, Whitney (Matt) Pinneo of Alliance; his nephews, Derek Morrison, Tyler Johnson and Kenadi Rising, all of Alliance and Trevor Benge and Tanner Benge of Kearney, NE; his great niece, Tinlee Morrison of Alliance; his great nephew, Kaysen Pinneo of Alliance; and his grandmother, LaQuetta Oliver of Guernsey, WY.&nbsp;

Darrel J. Annen passed away on Father’s Day, June 21, 2020 peacefully with his family by his side at the Hemingford Community Care Center.&nbsp; He was born on October 16,1936 to John and Gertie (Summers) Annen.

He joined the Army on February 7, 1956 and to his dismay, he was assigned to the “Grand Old Guard,” instead of heavy equipment.&nbsp; He was honorably discharged on February 6, 1958.&nbsp; He married Janice Bussen on September 19, 1959 and to this union were born John and Lori.&nbsp; Darrel was a wheat farmer and raised sheep for many years south of Hemingford with his family.&nbsp; In the early 1980’s he moved his family to west of Hemingford where his father and mother had lived raising wheat, corn and beans.&nbsp; He had belonged to the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department in his younger years.&nbsp; He was also a board member of Farmer’s Co-op.&nbsp; He would lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was always willing to braid a rope that same night for someone that needed a pull.&nbsp;

Darrel will be greatly missed by his son John (Carolyn), daughter Lori; grandkids and great grandkids, Melissa Annen ~Kinzee, Madison and Payton Swanson; Mandy (Kyle) Brice ~ Randie and Aiden Brice; Ryan (Katie) Dannar ~ Branson, Declan and Quinn Dannar.&nbsp; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive him.

He is at peace in the presence of his family which has gone before him including his mother, father, an infant child; sisters Ruth, Margaret and Gladys and brother Darwin, son-in-law Randy Dannar and an infant great grandchild Jake.

Per his request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.&nbsp; He will be laid to rest with his wife in a private ceremony at a later date.&nbsp; Memorials may be sent to the family at&nbsp;PO Box 523; Hemingford, NE&nbsp; 69348.&nbsp; The memorials will be divided between the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department, Hemingford Community Care Center and Regional West Hospice.

A memorial service for Zachary Allen Hrasky, age 38, of Scottsbluff, who died June 19th, 2020, will be held at the Weborg 21 Centre on the Scottsbluff Gering Highway at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 25th, officiated by Pastor Bob Haverick. Inurnment will be at Mitchell City Cemetery.

Zachary was born July 13th, 1981 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Timothy Allen Hrasky and Brenda Schlager. He received his education from the Gering Public Schools. He married Mckenna Jessen, and to this union were born two children, Dillon and Madi Edens. He was also blessed to have another child, Oaklynn Elizabeth Hrasky, and he loved his children greatly. His fiancé, Shauna Reagan, and her son, Skyler, were well beloved by him.

He drove truck for B Squared Farming and Trucking. His passions were music, trucks, and barbecuing—he was a great cook. Zachary lived life to its fullest, and when he loved you, you knew it.

Survivors include his fiancé, Shauna, and her son, Skyler; children, Dillon, Madi, and Oaklynn; siblings, Andrew Hrasky, Ian Hrasky, Logan Baxter, and Haley Baxter; mother, Brenda; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.

In 1949, the family moved to a farm north of Mitchell. Tom graduated from Mitchell High School in 1960 and attended Chadron State College where he earned his education degree. He taught mathematics and shop class at Albin, Wy, Gering, NE, and Bellevue, NE before moving back to the family farm to begin farming. He later substitute taught in Gering, NE for several years. On December 24, 1976, he married Donelda M. Ebel. They had three children, Amy Nicole, Brian Lee, and Neil Thomas. When he wasn’t farming, Tom enjoyed reading his Bible, fishing, and taking care of his cows. Tom is survived by his wife Donie and their children: Amy (Levi) Hadley of Kearney, NE, Brian (Amber) Mauler of Julian, CA, and Neil (Casie Lukes) Mauler of Egan, MN; daughter Heidi (Arthur) Santano of Dade City, FL; grandchildren Micah Hadley of Lincoln, NE, Alexis Hadley, of Kearney, NE, and Finley and Henry Mauler of Egan, MN; sister Judy and nephews Mark and Justin Hansen.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Thomas L. Mauler (1942 - 2020)

Florence Julia Gonzalez, 73, of Scottsbluff, formerly of Alliance, passed away at her home Friday, June 19, 2020, with her family by her side. Florence was born on May 16, 1947, in Taos, New Mexico, to Eloy Jaramillo and Dolores Rojas. She graduated from Hemingford High School in 1965.Throughout her life, Florence was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family.

She loved reading and gardening and was an amazing cook. She was also always interested in following the business industry. She especially enjoyed traveling with her husband, the late Ralph Gonzalez Sr., when he performed throughout the year with various bands, including the Brown Sugar band, at cities in a number of states. Ralph was well known as one of the region’s best saxophone players.

Florence took great pride in her hometown of Taos, and she was proud to be related to Kit Carson and Charles Bent, who became the first civilian governor of New Mexico in 1846. Florence’s great aunt, Josefa Jaramillo, was married to Carson, and Josefa’s sister, Maria Jaramillo, was married to Bent.

Florence is survived by her four children: Ralph Gonzalez Jr. of Omaha; Julianne (Jeff) Fielder of Scottsbluff; Jill Gonzalez of Casper, Wyo.; and Spencer (Herlinda) Gonzalez of Scottsbluff; sisters Julie Sutherland and Josie Rojas both of Kearney, and brother Ernest Jaramillo of Gering; grandchildren Kevin and Brent Galinsky both of Alliance, Stephanie and Zachary Fielder both of Scottsbluff, and Graycen S. Gonzalez of Scottsbluff; great grandchildren Michael, Kaylea, Carley, and Dalton Galinsky; and numerous extended family members.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gonzalez Sr., parents; sister Dorothy Bradis; and granddaughter Ashley Fielder.

Florence Julia Gonzalez (1947 - 2020)

Martha Christina “Tina” Freiberger, 92, went on to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 18, 2020, at home surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Tina was born on December 26, 1927 to Gust and Mary Ellen (Cooper) Peterson at Antioch, Nebraska. The names of her siblings are Frank Peterson, Margaret Nelson, George Peterson and Mary Ellen Reynolds. The family lived and worked happily alongside each other on the Gust Peterson Sandhills ranch.

Tina and her brother Frank began their education in a small, two-student school located in the Sod-house built by her dad on the land he homesteaded. She went on to attend and graduate from Alliance High School in 1944. At the time, she was the youngest to ever graduate from AHS at the age of sixteen.

Tina met John Henry Freiberger when he came to work on her parents' ranch. They married on December 19, 1948 and had 4 children: Carolyn (Don Godwin), Peggy (John Sampson), Linda (Jim Wodke) and Don (Vic Odell). Tina's greatest pride and joy was her family. She often boasted in her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren that number eight-six total and counting.

John and Tina never knew a stranger. Everyone was welcome at their table and in their hearts. John and Tina ranched in the Sandhills outside of Alliance until their retirement in 2010. They were also active members of the community and the First Christian Church of Alliance, Ne. Tina enjoyed being head of the kitchen crew at their church, teaching Sunday School, and organizing the “Jesus And Me” afterschool program with Marge Thompson. The “JAM” program attracted over 150 children every Wednesday after school. The kids sang songs, had Bible lessons, made crafts and enjoyed tasty cookies; all with the goal of getting to know Jesus better. Tina was also a 4-H leader for 25 years and a Board Member for the County School District 158. She loved to play piano and accordion. Her family and friends will always remember her as a wonderful Mother, homemaker, and rancher's wife!

An informal graveside service will be held in honor of our mother, Tina Freiberger, at the Alliance Cemetery on June 26th at 2pm. There will be a viewing on June 25th at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home from 1-7pm. The family will be present at the viewing from 4-6pm. We understand that COVID-19 may limit the attendance of loved ones. In light of this, we have created a Facebook Group under the name, “Tina Freiberger Memorial,” for all those who cannot attend in person. Everyone is welcome to view and share their condolences, photos, and beloved memories of Tina in this online memorial. We will also be Live streaming the graveside service to this Facebook Group. Robert Jean Jenkins, 84, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, June 18, 2020.

He was born May 26, 1936 in Gordon, Nebraska to Jean Otto and Dorothy (Beckman) Jenkins.&nbsp; In 1954 he joined the Marine Corp.&nbsp; In 1956 he was honorably discharged as a Tractor Mechanic Tank Crewman following an injury during the Korean War.

Peters on September 4, 1962.&nbsp; Following their marriage they moved from Tulsa, OK to Springfield, OR where he worked as an airplane body repairman and where they had their only daughter, Jana Michal.&nbsp; Soon thereafter they moved back to the Gordon area where Bob could pursue his love of farming.&nbsp; A son was born to them in Gordon, Keith Robert.&nbsp; Bob owned a hay grinding business where he kept busy in the winter time when he wasn’t farming.&nbsp; They later moved closer to the Hemingford area.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 9 in Hemingford.&nbsp; Bob knew a lot of people and had many life-long friends.&nbsp; He would easily have some story to tell.&nbsp; Family was always important to him and he never complained.&nbsp; He was a diehard Marine.&nbsp; He enjoyed collecting guns, farm equipment miniatures and building intricate town and country buildings for small scale train yards and towns.&nbsp; He was easy to love and will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Beryl Jenkins of Hemingford; his children, Jana (Shaun) Werkele of Wheatland, WY, Keith Jenkins of Hemingford, Michael Barnett of Bac Lieu, Vietnam and Steven Barnett of Wasilla, AK; his grandchildren, Kalen Willson of Hemingford and Jacey Willson of Wichita, KS; and his great-granddaughter, Arya Grieser of Alliance.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim Jenkins.

Family graveside memorial services with military rites will be held at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance.

 </figure>Robert Jean Jenkins, 84, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, June 18, 2020.He was born May 26, 1936 in Gordon, Nebraska to Jean Otto and Dorothy (Beckman) Jenkins.&nbsp; In 1954 he joined the Marine Corp.&nbsp; In 1956 he was honorably discharged as a Tractor Mechanic Tank Crewman following an injury during the Korean War.He married the love of his life, Beryl M.
