&nbsp; Following extensive consultation with the Irish government, medical authorities and the administrative staffs at Nebraska and Illinois, the 2021 season-opening football game scheduled for Aug. 28 between the two schools will not be played at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Huskers and Fighting Illini still plan to open the 2021 season on Aug. 28, but now the game will be played in Champaign at Illinois' Memorial Stadium. "We are disappointed that we will not be able to travel to Ireland to open the 2021 football season in Dublin," Nebraska Athletic Director&nbsp;<a href="https://huskers.com/staff.aspx?staff=521">Bill Moos</a>&nbsp;said. "The trip would have been a memorable experience for the young men in our football program, so I feel badly they won't have this opportunity. "There was also a high level of excitement and interest in the game among our great fan base, and I know many of them were looking forward to making the trip to cheer on the Huskers. Anthony Travel and Irish American Events have been a great partner throughout this process, and we will continue to explore the possibility of taking Nebraska Football to Dublin in the future." "It is desperately disappointing that it is necessary to cancel the 2021 Aer Lingus College Football Classic but public health must take precedent," said Neil Naughton, Chairman of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic. "These games offer huge publicity potential, practical economic benefits, and a genuine expression of the close ties between Ireland and the United States. &nbsp; SPEARFISH, S.D. – February 16, 2021 --&nbsp;The Chadron State men's basketball team dropped to 4-5 on Tuesday evening after squaring off with Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. The Yellow Jackets surged in the second half to come away with a 74-53 win in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. After CSC's&nbsp;<a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6804">Bryant Jefferson</a>&nbsp;got the Eagles on the board first at 2-0, neither team scored until 15:30 when BHSU's Ryder Kirsch knotted things at 2-2 with a putback layup. Neither team led by more than one possession until the Yellow Jackets' Trey Whitley managed a three-point play with a free throw at the two-minute mark in the first half. CSC trailed 31-27 at the midpoint, with Whitley scoring his team's last five points of the period. Chadron State held the home team to 0-for-9 from the three-point line in the first half. BHSU started to gain separation in the game in the second half. The Yellow Jackets went on a 19-2 run to begin the period, while CSC started 1-for-11 shooting from the field. Sindou Cisse, Joel Scott, and Whitley made up the leading contingent in scoring for the BHSU squad with 15 points apiece. With the win, the Yellow Jackets earned 19 wins of the last 20 matchups between the two teams and secured the season sweep 2-0. Later the two teams played a non-conference match, due to a last-minute withdrawal by the University of Mary from the day's competition. In that one, CSC rallied twice to even the match score, but lost to its rivals from the north for just the second time in the last eight tries in a 15-11 final set. "We battled well as a team in the first match against BHSU today," said CSC Head Volleyball Coach&nbsp;Jennifer Stadler. "We had some really great moments, and we made some big plays. Overall, throughout the day we were inconsistent in areas, which led to inconsistency as a team. Our girls did a good job with the adjustments that we made and I'm proud of their effort." Greiman recorded 13 kills and an equal number of digs in the Eagles' win. Absent leading scorer&nbsp;Olivia Moten-Schell, who averages 2.57 kills per set this season, fellow true freshman&nbsp;Rhiannon Nez&nbsp;had 10 kills, hitting at a match-best .350 clip, to go with a team-high five total blocks. Eagles and Yellow Jackets play 10 sets Saturday; CSC wins crucial RMAC match

&nbsp; NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.&nbsp;- The Nebraska volleyball team continued its unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-20) win at Rutgers on Saturday afternoon.&nbsp; The Huskers (6-0) overcame a slow start to eventually overpower the Scarlet Knights (1-7). Nebraska had a season-high 15 blocks and 79 digs to hold Rutgers to .129 hitting for the match. The Huskers hit .269 and had 61 kills to just 40 for the Scarlet Knights.&nbsp; Lauren Stivrins&nbsp;had 15 kills on .583 hitting with a career-high 11 blocks.&nbsp;Lexi Sun&nbsp;also had 15 kills to go with 11 digs and a season-best five blocks.&nbsp;Stivrins capped a stellar weekend at Rutgers that included 26 kills and just two attacking errors on 42 swings for a .571 hitting percentage.&nbsp; Madi Kubik&nbsp;chipped in 14 kills, 16 digs and three blocks, all season highs.&nbsp;Jazz Sweet&nbsp;came off the bench to spark the Big Red with eight kills on .429 hitting, and she chipped in a pair of blocks.&nbsp;Riley Zuhn&nbsp;and&nbsp;Callie Schwarzenbach&nbsp;each had four kills, and Schwarzenbach posted four blocks.&nbsp; Kenzie Knuckles&nbsp;had a season-best 20 digs, and&nbsp;Nicklin Hames&nbsp;added 17 to go with 49 assists.&nbsp;Keonilei Akana&nbsp;added 11 digs, the most in her freshman season.&nbsp; Beka Kojadinovic led the Scarlet Knights with 12 kills and 18 digs.&nbsp; Set 1:&nbsp;Rutgers took the first set, 25-22, its first set win over the Huskers since both teams joined the Big Ten Conference. The Scarlet Knights hit .400 in the set with one attacking error while Nebraska hit .262 with seven attacking errors. The Huskers led 16-12 after kills by Kubik and Sun and a solo block by Schwarzenbach. But Rutgers went on a 4-0 run to tie the set at 16-16, and the Scarlet Knights turned an 18-18 tie into a 23-19 lead with a 5-1 run. NU pulled within 23-21 on kills by Stivrins and Kubik but could get no closer. Set 2:&nbsp;Nebraska ended the second set on a 7-0 run to win 25-14 and even the match. Knuckles served the decisive run as the Huskers fired on all cylinders. The teams traded points early in set two and were tied 12-12 when Rutgers hit wide and mishandled a serve by Hames to make it 14-12 Huskers. Sweet's first kill of the season gave NU a 15-13 lead, and Kubik and Sweet added kills around an ace by Sun as the Huskers went ahead 18-13. Stivrins produced a pair of kills to push the lead to 21-14, and an ace by Knuckles and two straight Rutgers attacking errors gave the Huskers the win.&nbsp; Set 3:&nbsp;Nebraska gained separation from a 7-7 tie with a 4-0 run sparked by kills by Stivrins and Sun and a block by the pair of All-Americans. The Huskers led 16-11 after Sweet terminated a kill and teamed with Schwarzenbach for a block. Stivrins delivered two more kills and a block as the Huskers built a 23-13 lead after a 7-1 spurt. Kubik earned set point for the Huskers with her fourth kill of the set, and a fifth kill in the set by Stivrins ended the set at 25-14. The Huskers hit .250 and held Rutgers to .022 hitting in the third set.&nbsp; Set 4:&nbsp;Rutgers held a 6-3 lead when Stivrins and Sun combined for two kills and two blocks to make it 7-6 Huskers.  </figure>By: NU Athletic Communications&nbsp; NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.&nbsp;- The Nebraska volleyball team continued its unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-20) win at Rutgers on Saturday afternoon.&nbsp; The Huskers (6-0) overcame a slow start to eventually overpower the Scarlet Knights (1-7). Nebraska had a season-high 15 blocks and 79 digs to hold Rutgers to .129 hitting for the match. The Huskers hit .269 and had 61 kills to just 40 for the Scarlet Knights.&nbsp; Lauren Stivrins&nbsp;had 15 kills on .583 hitting with a career-high 11 blocks.&nbsp;Lexi Sun&nbsp;also had 15 kills to go with 11 digs and a season-best five blocks.&nbsp;Stivrins capped a stellar weekend at Rutgers that included 26 kills and just two attacking errors on 42 swings for a .571 hitting percentage.&nbsp; Madi Kubik&nbsp;chipped in 14 kills, 16 digs and three blocks, all season highs.&nbsp;Jazz Sweet&nbsp;came off the bench to spark the Big Red with eight kills on .429 hitting, and she chipped in a pair of blocks.&nbsp;Riley Zuhn&nbsp;and&nbsp;Callie Schwarzenbach&nbsp;each had four kills, and Schwarzenbach posted four blocks.&nbsp; Kenzie Knuckles&nbsp;had a season-best 20 digs, and&nbsp;Nicklin Hames&nbsp;added 17 to go with 49 assists.&nbsp;Keonilei Akana&nbsp;added 11 digs, the most in her freshman season.&nbsp; Beka Kojadinovic led the Scarlet Knights with 12 kills and 18 digs.&nbsp; Set 1:&nbsp;Rutgers took the first set, 25-22, its first set win over the Huskers since both teams joined the Big Ten Conference. The Scarlet Knights hit .400 in the set with one attacking error while Nebraska hit .262 with seven attacking errors. The Huskers led 16-12 after kills by Kubik and Sun and a solo block by Schwarzenbach. But Rutgers went on a 4-0 run to tie the set at 16-16, and the Scarlet Knights turned an 18-18 tie into a 23-19 lead with a 5-1 run. NU pulled within 23-21 on kills by Stivrins and Kubik but could get no closer. Set 2:&nbsp;Nebraska ended the second set on a 7-0 run to win 25-14 and even the match. Knuckles served the decisive run as the Huskers fired on all cylinders. The teams traded points early in set two and were tied 12-12 when Rutgers hit wide and mishandled a serve by Hames to make it 14-12 Huskers. Sweet's first kill of the season gave NU a 15-13 lead, and Kubik and Sweet added kills around an ace by Sun as the Huskers went ahead 18-13. Stivrins produced a pair of kills to push the lead to 21-14, and an ace by Knuckles and two straight Rutgers attacking errors gave the Huskers the win.&nbsp; Set 3:&nbsp;Nebraska gained separation from a 7-7 tie with a 4-0 run sparked by kills by Stivrins and Sun and a block by the pair of All-Americans. The Huskers led 16-11 after Sweet terminated a kill and teamed with Schwarzenbach for a block. Stivrins delivered two more kills and a block as the Huskers built a 23-13 lead after a 7-1 spurt. Kubik earned set point for the Huskers with her fourth kill of the set, and a fifth kill in the set by Stivrins ended the set at 25-14. The Huskers hit .250 and held Rutgers to .022 hitting in the third set.&nbsp; Set 4:&nbsp;Rutgers held a 6-3 lead when Stivrins and Sun combined for two kills and two blocks to make it 7-6 Huskers. Hames dumped a kill, and Sun had a block with Schwarzenbach before tallying another kill for an 11-8 lead. Rutgers came back to tie the score at 17-17, but Kubik and Sun posted three kills to keep NU in front, 20-18. Sweet, Stivrins and Kubik produced kills in the waning moments of the match to lift the Huskers to a 25-20 win. Aside from outscoring the Eagles, the Mountain Lions managed to limit their turnovers to 13 in comparison to the Eagles' 20. UCCS earned 18 points off turnovers while the Eagles earned 9. The Mountain Lions also boasted 13 steals throughout the game; the Eagles had four. Chadron State got on the board first, but to no avail. The visiting team led most of the game after that and had the largest lead of the game at 65-39, a 26-point differential. UCCS went on a scoring run early in the game and racked up 12 consecutive points early in the first quarter. CSC outscored their opponents 8-7 in the second, but the visitors secured their victory in the fourth, outscoring Chadron State 16-6. <a href="https://chadroneagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4351">Tatum Peterson</a>&nbsp;had a big scoring night for the Eagles. Last season, CSC won against BHSU in both matchups, 3-2 and 3-1. The 2-1 Yellow Jackets currently sit at fourth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and have one more match under their belts than the 1-1 Eagles. On offense, Sierra Ward of BHSU leads her team with 23.0 points, averaging 2.88 points/ set. Karly Marx boasts 40 assists, averaging 5.00 per set. Defensively, Haedyn Rhoades has 42 digs on the season with an average of 5.25 digs/ set. Rhoades is the daughter of CSC Hall of Fame athlete Jay Rhoades, a 2009 inductee for football, and Angela Woodworth Rhoades, a 2009 inductee for volleyball. Her brother, Harley, helps with the CSC volleyball team and runs for Chadron State track and field. Chadron State will then play the University of Mary at 2 p.m. and will be the first matchup between these two teams since they met in Seward, Neb. in 2017 during the Bulldog Bash. The Eagles were victorious in the match, winning three sets to one. Other than intrasquad scrimmages, the University of Mary has yet to see action this season. The meeting between the Marauders and the Eagles will be UM's first match of 2020. Last season, the Marauders went 1-28, earning one win over New Mexico Highlands University. Morgan Schnabel of UMary will be returning for her senior season. CSC men's basketball Saturday postponed due to Covid-19 concerns

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Jonathan Davis scored 10 points and made a couple big baskets to help Wisconsin begin pulling away after halftime  and the No. 21 Badgers overcame a poor shooting performance to beat Nebraska 61-48. The Badgers swept the season series and have won six straight over the Huskers. Nebraska has lost 25 straight against Big Ten opponents. Wisconsin shot just 32.3%, its second-worst mark of the season, but still managed to hand the Huskers their third straight double-digit loss. Nebraska got 14 points from Lat Mayen and 12 from Teddy Allen.

Jokic finished with 12 points and 12 assists. It was the fifth straight loss for the Cavaliers. Jarrett Allen had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Cleveland.
